Jawaban:

1. The definition ethnolinguistics by expert :

 According to Harimurti Kridalaksana (1983: 42), ethnolinguistics is (1) a branch of

linguistics that investigates the relationship between language and rural communities or
communities that do not have writing, this field is also called anthropological linguistics
(2) anthropological linguistic branches that investigate the relationship of language and
linguistic attitudes towards language language, one of the most prominent aspects of
ethnolinguistics is the problem of language relavity. Language relativity is one of the
views that a person's language determines his world view through grammatical categories
and semantic classifications that exist in that language and which is created with culture
(Harimurti Kridalaksana, 1983: 145).
 Meanwhile, according to Wakit Abdullah (2013: 10), ethnolinguistics is a type of
linguistics that pays attention to the dimensions of language (vocabulary, phrases,
clauses, discourse, other lingual units) in social and cultural dimensions (such as ritual
ceremonies, cultural events, folklore and others) more broadly to advance and maintain
cultural practices and social structures of society.

ethnolinguistics is a branch of linguistics that studies the relationship of language with society
and the relationship of language with linguistic attitudes toward language, which is broader to
advance and maintain cultural practices and social structures of society.

3. Ethnolinguistics outlines the relationship between the language and culture of a society or
ethnic group. That is, ethnology / anthropology contributes to linguistics and linguistics also
contributes to ethnology / anthropology as explained in Putra as follows .

 From Linguistics to Ethnology. A linguistic study is very meaningful for ethnology,

because in order to know more about the culture of a society, a researcher must
understand the knowledge of that society. Furthermore the knowledge of a society is
stored in the language used. Therefore, to be able to understand the behavior of a group of
people must first learn the language; because language is closely related to worldview,
way of looking at reality, the structure of thought, and change in society.
 From Ethnology to Linguistics. Ethnology studies also contribute to linguistics, namely
that in order to understand the language used by a society, even researchers must be
armed with anthropology or ethnology. Because culture is closely related to the history of
language, language maps, and the meaning of language (1997: 4-10). Based on these
explanations, it can be seen that linguistics and ethnology are interrelated and not separate
from each other, in other words the benefits of ethnolinguistics are to find out how the
uniqueness of language in each culture and how the life views of people adhering to
culture especially in Indonesia.
