A: A very good evening to one and all. Esteemed guests of the occasion, respected members of
the faculty and my dear friends. I, Apoorna Patri

D: and I Dibyajit Bardhan, welcome you all to the most awaited and awe-inspiring Xtasy 2020-
End of an Era! Three days of absolute fun, learning and madness! Xtasy, the annual socio-
cultural event of College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar, Since its inception in
1992, has been an unparalleled platform to emblazon the talents of the youth across the state.
An amalgamation of dance, music, dramatics and a plethora of competitions, with 5000+
participants ,30+ events , 3 days of extravaganza , 2 star performances, Xtasy 2020 promises to
be bigger, better and more exciting than ever before. So brace yourselves to be a part of this
extravaganza over the next three days.

A: Xtasy 2020- end of an era! What exactly an end of an era signifies?.The 2010s was in fact a
period of change, development and prosperity. We conquered mars with a budget less than a
hollywood movie, we won our 2nd world cup in the field of cricket, our women like Anshula Kant
made our nation proud by becoming the chief finance officer of world bank, we welcomed a
nobel prize in the field of economics, we saw transition of our reliability on conventional
sources to renewable source, in the field of entertainment we saw the transition of harry potter
fans to avengers followers. Cricket stadium marked ear-splitting noise of Sachin which soon
changed to dhoni and now virat kohli.

D- Apoorna, End of an era is relevant to our college as well. Ours is the last batch under BPUT.
We are autonomous now. We have an state-of-the-art AI lab. So, in many ways, End of an Era is
the apt theme for XTASY 2020!

A- We are indeed privileged to have amongst us some eminent personalities. Let us welcome
them with a small bouquet and lots of claps and love. ----------------------------

D: Gautam Buddha said “ If you light a lamp for somebody else, it will also brighten your path.”
Lighting of lamp dispels the evil of darkness, enlightening our minds and hearts with its divine
power.

A: In fact, the blessings of almighty are imperative to make this fest a grand success. On that
note, now, we would like to request our honorable dignitaries on the dais to kindly proceed to
light the ceremonial lamp.

D: Warren Bennis quoted “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality” and today
We have a person in our midst, who has been that leader for us. His ideas, encouragement and
untiring efforts have been at the forefront in making Xtasy a reality today.
A: He is none other than our esteemed Prinicipal Professor Dr Prashanta Kumar Patra Sir. We
would kindly request him to address the august gathering. Please sir.

A: Thank You sir for having captivated the audience with your words. I’m pretty sure that we’ll
live up to your expectations and continue doing the same in the coming years, all with your
support.
