LADAKH
 Additional charges of INR 1100 per person are applicable for foreign nationals
(Do note that MakeMyTrip does not provide Ladakh holiday services for SAARC & China
nationals and diplomatic passport holders).

Health Concerns
 Travelling to Ladakh is not recommended if you’re suffering from respiratory disorders like
asthma, bronchitis, etc.

Packing
 During summer (May-September), the maximum temperature in Ladakh rises upto 30
degrees while minimum temperature falls to 2 degrees. During winter (October-April), the
maximum temperature hovers around 15 degrees while minimum temperature falls to 0
degrees. Hence you are advised to pack and prepare accordingly.
Hotels & Other Services

 All accommodations are basic in nature with neat and clean rooms that are simply furnished,
with attached washrooms, assuring a comfortable stay .

 Given the region’s topography, most hotels do not have elevators. Should you need a room
on the ground floor, place a request at the hotel during check-in (subject to availability).

 There is a scarcity of water and electricity in Ladakh. Hence, hotels are not able to provide
24x7 running hot water; it is available for 2 hours in the morning and evening.

 Power cuts and mobile network problems are frequently observed in Ladakh due to the high
altitude.
Hotels & Other Services

 Do note that heaters may be offered at an additional cost, payable directly by you at the
hotel. It is not recommended to use heaters as it burns oxygen. However, if needed then ask
for a gas heater and ensure that it shouldn't run for long.

 Most hotels in Ladakh do not serve Jain/Gujarati food in their restaurants. However, if you
have requested Jain food at the time of booking your holiday services, it can be arranged. If
not requested yet, you could get in touch with your MakeMyTrip representative.

 Only vegetarian meals are available in Nubra Valley and Pangong (Tso Moriri).

 For all extra bed requests, an extra mattress will be provided in the room instead of an extra
bed (depending upon the hotel category booked).
Tours & Transfers
 Vehicles in Leh are owned and managed by the Transport Union; hence, your vehicle and
drivers may change for every transfer and sightseeing.

 Vehicles have a capacity of 6 travellers (including children) & 1 driver. Vehicles fall under two
categories: Economy/Standard (Qualis/ Tavera) and Deluxe/Superior deluxe/Luxury (Xylo/
Innova/Scorpio/Aria).

 It is advised to travel light as luggage is stored on the overhead carriers and sometimes on
the back seats of the vehicle, depending on the space available.

 Indian nationals no longer require permits to access some of the region’s most amazing
locations. However, you are required to carry along your valid photo identity proof (as
mentioned above) at all times, along with a copy of a self-declaration form at the ITBP/Army
check-posts.

 Please note that any diversion in route in case of any road blockage, landslide, political
unrest, etc. will attract an additional cost to be paid directly on-ground .
Tours & Transfers

 Foreign nationals do need requisite permits (at an additional cost) and you need to acquire
these before you travel. Do get in touch with your MakeMyTrip representative for further
details.

 Visit to high mountain ranges like Khardung -La -Pass and Chang La Pass should start early
in the morning.

 Entrance fees for monuments, museums etc. will have to be paid on the tour on direct
payment basis unless included in the holiday services booked by you .

 Refrain from drinking alcohol on the day of your arrival and in public places .

 As a mark of respect for local traditions and customs, it is suggested to dress conservatively
while visiting religious places .
Additional Information's

 Mobile network problems are frequently observed in Ladakh due to the high altitude. Prepaid
connections don’t work in Jammu and Kashmir. However, for the best network connectivity,
you can opt for BSNL, Airtel & JIO postpaid provides. In some parts of Nubra and Pangong,
only BSNL will work .

 Drivers may not be fluent in speaking English and Hindi but they will be able to understand
the languages. Please be patient and polite, especially while raising concerns; why argue
when kind words work.
