INTRODUCTION

BACKGROUND

The Area 4 Offshore Rovuma Basin block, with an initial area of 17,646 km 2, was awarded to the Area 4 Joint
Venture, for which Eni East Africa S.p.A. (EEA) was appointed as the Operator on December 2006 (with
effective date February 2007).

It is located in the deep waters of the Rovuma Basin (1500 to 2300 WD) and straddles the Mozambique’s
Northern border with Tanzania, adjacent to the Area 1 block. The Rovuma Basin is part of the Tanzania-
Mozambique Coastal Basin, which has a total extension of some 80,000 km2 and a maximum thickness of
about 10 km.

Figure 1: Initial Area 4 Block Location

PROJECT LOCATION

Area 4 is situated approximately 250 km North East of Pemba and 50 km from the coastline, measured from
the western limit of the concession; the Block is about 70 km wide by 200 km long. Currently Area 4 covers a
surface of 10207 sqkm.

COMPANY JOINT VENTURE INFORMATION

EEA is the Operator of the Area 4 Block (with a 70% participation interest), with the other participants being
ENH (10% carried throughout the exploration phase), Galp Energia (10%) and Kogas (10%). CNPC holds a
28.57% participation in EEA (equal to an indirect participation of 20% in the Block).

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Coral South Development Project has the objective to exploit the southern portion of Coral non-straddling
reservoir through one Floating LNG (FLNG) Unit, and relevant subsea development.

SCOPE OF THE DOCUMENT

The scope of this document is to describe the composition of the process fluids which will be imported to the
FLNG Facility within the Turret.

CONTAMINANTS DATA

The following has to be considered as far as contaminants are concerned:

• H2S: there is no evidence of H2S in feedstock.
• Mercury: traces of Hg have been detected in some exploration/appraisal wells in the area, with
concentrations ranging 30 - 180 μg/Nm3; for design purposes, an average mercury content equal to
100 μg/Nm3 shall be assumed in the feed gas.
• Mercaptans: there is no evidence of mercaptans in feedstock.
• Carbonyl Sulphide: there is no evidence of carbonyl sulphide in feedstock.
• Carbon Disulphide: there is no evidence of carbon disulphide in feedstock.
• Total Sulphur: there is no evidence of sulphur compounds in feedstock.
• Oxygen: there is no evidence of oxygen in feedstock.
• Lube Oils: nil.
• Arsenic: nil.
• MEG: Mono Ethylene Glycol
• Produced Water: Saturation water and Formation Water
The above values are obtained from Basis of Design (Ref. [1], Section 5).

SAND PRODUCTION

The expected sand production is summarized in the table below.

Description Value Unit

Sand granulometry 40 µm
Sand Rate 0.1 lb/MMSCFD
Table 3.5.1: Expected Sand Production

The above provided values have to be considered as normal operation values. The sand production reported
in the table above is to be considered valid at the top of the tubing. The above values are obtained from Section
8.4 of Basis of Design. Ref. [1]
