Part 2: Saving your picture (Next class after project)


1. Get laptops, turn them on, and log in. If you
forgot your login it will be on the blackboard
on your index card or it is in your agenda.
2. Click on the google button (symbol) that will
be on the bottom bar of your computer.
3. Sign into google by clicking on the “Sign in”
button on the top righthand side
4. Place your School email and then login using
your email and password.
5. Go to Google Drive (symbol)
6. Click on Shared with me (screenshot)
7. Click on the “My animals” files that will have
the pictures of your animal.
8. Scroll down the page until you see your name
and the pictures of your animal.
9. Click on your photo and then right click the
mouse and choose save to keep.
10. Right click the phot when it appears under
notes and right click it again and pick save
image as…
11. Choose pictures on the left side. Click on the
“File Name:” bar and place the name of your
animal; click on save on the bottom right
corner.
Part 3: the timeline
1. Get laptops, turn them on, and log in. If you

2. Click on the google button (symbol) that will
be on the bottom bar of your computer.
3. Click on the web bar on the top of the screen
padlet.com and click on login then login with
google. Proceed to click on their account
email that is showing.
4. Show students how to pick the timeline
option on creating a new padlet.
5. To create a point in your timeline, click on the
+ across the dotted line. This will allow you to
include points at any point of your timeline.
6. Using the example make sure you have a
picture included inside the timeline boxes and
a box for how plastic or pollution has affected
their animal and habitat during any time
period of its life.
7. When done have them copy the link and paste
it on a google doc file in google classroom

Teacher instructions

1. Create the animals with habitat with recycled materials at home in a shoebox or a box around
the size of a shoebox.
2. Bring in projects so the teacher can take pictures and upload them to a google doc for
students named “My animals” to be able to download onto their computers.
3. Have students grab their laptop from there cart group by group.
4. Have them turn on the laptop and login. Have student’s login their computers. If they forgot
their username and password there will be on index cards attached to the blackboard in front
of the classroom.
5. Have students go to google and login again. If doing at home, they will have their password in
their agenda or folder.
6. Click on the google doc in the upper right-hand side and go to the shared with me section and
choose the file that said my animals Project.
7. They will then find the picture of their animal and have them right click the picture for them to
save photo. Then proceed to padlet.
8. Go to padlet.com and click on login then login with google. Proceed to click on their account
email that is shoeing.
9. Show students how to pick the timeline option on creating a new padlet.
10. Using the example have them realize that they will need a picture included inside the timeline
boxes and a box for how plastic or pollution has affected their animal and habitat.
11. When done have them copy the link and paste it on a google doc file in google classroom by
showing them where it is located.
