TOURNAMENT REGLEMENT
1. Age categories
Prague Handball Cup 2019 is a youth tournament de-
signated for boys and girls in these age categories:
A – boys born 1. 1. 2000–31. 12. 2001 (MA)
B – boys born 1. 1. 2002–31. 12. 2003 (MB)
C – boys born 1. 1. 2004–31. 12. 2005 (MC)
D – boys born 1. 1. 2006–31. 12. 2007 (MD)
E – boys born 1. 1. 2008 and younger (ME)
A – girls born 1. 1. 2000–31. 12. 2001 (WA)
B – girls born 1. 1. 2002–31. 12. 2003 (WB)
C – girls born 1. 1. 2004–31. 12. 2005 (WC)
D – girls born 1. 1. 2006–31. 12. 2007 (WD)
E – girls born 1. 1. 2008 and younger (WE)
Participation of younger players is allowed in respec-
tive category. It is strictly forbidden to participate in
respective category for older players (outside the age
limit). In categories MD and ME it is permitted to play
as many as three girls, in category WE is permitted to
play as many as three boys. Each player can be part of
only one team in his/her own category. Clubs, school
teams or regional teams are welcome to take part in
the tournament.
2. Playing fields
The tournament matches are played only in indoor
halls with a playing field of 40 x 20 m. Categories WE,
ME, WD and MD are allowed to play on smaller play-
ing fields (36 x 18 m).
3. Tournament rules
The tournament follows the international rules appro-
ved by IHF with some small amendments, which will
be listed in the tournament’s bulletin.
4. Balls
A-boys play with 58–60 cm balls, B-boys, A-girls,
B-girls and C-boys play with 54–56 cm balls, C-girls,
D-girls and D-boys with 50–52 cm balls, E-boys and
E-girls with 46–50 cm balls The team listed as the first
one in the official match timetable has to provide a per-
fectly clear regular playing ball of the above mentio-
ned dimensions for the match. The organizer has the
right to provide sponsors balls for matches.

A team is guaranteed to play a minimum of 6 mat-
ches. The playing time of all matches is 2 x 15 minutes.
There are two referees nominated to every match.
A maximum of 16 players can be nominated for the
match. There has to be listed also minimally one leader.
6. Playing system
There are preliminary round groups of a minimum of
6 teams and a maximum of 8 ones. The preliminary
round groups are based on the robin round system.
Preliminary round group final rankings determine each
team´s qualification for the A or B-finals.
Competition format for each category depends on
number of participatig teams. Final version of compe-
tition format will be published in tournament bulletin.
6.1 A-final
The teams ranked 1–3 place in their preliminary round
group qualify for the A-final. The qualified teams form
main round groups (of 3 each) with teams from abso-
lutely different preliminary round groups. Only win-
ners of the main round groups qualify for next round
which is based on the knock-out system.
6.2 B-final
The teams ranked 4 or other place in their prelimina-
ry round group qualify for the B-final. The teams not
coming from the same preliminary round group are
paired off to follow the knock-out system.
7. Ranking of teams
Ranking of teams in preliminary round and in main
round groups of the A-final phase is decided as fo-
llows: 1) the total number of points won in the group
2) the number of points from mutual matches 3) the
goal difference from mutual matches 4) the number
of goals scored in mutual matches 5) the total goal
differences in the group 6) the total number of goals
scored in group matches 7) the lot „Shoot-out“ is pla-
yed, if a game is tied at the end of the regular playing
time and a winner has to be determined. Winner has
to be determined in all knock-out system matches,
final matches and bronze medal matches.
8. Roster
Each club must before the start of tournament fill
in on-line in it´s Club zone a list of all participating
teams. The rosters contain the names of all players in
respective category and also at least one name of
a team leader.
9. Prove of identity
The tournament participants (players or leaders) have
to carry passport or photo ID card with them and also
filled in Activity card at each match.
10. Medical facility The organizer awards also teams in B-final with small

11. Awards
11.1 Awards to best teams
The organizer awards with prizes the most successful
teams of the tournament which means teams placed
in A-final on first, second, third and fourth positron
in each category. These teams will receive a prize –
original cup with updated logo of tournament. Teams
placed on first, second and third positron will receive
medals.
