G3000 – Common Fact

Peter was a 50-year-old man with physical disability. Peter had been employed on a
part-time basis at G3000 Limited for 5 years. G3000 was a social enterprise which
packaged hygiene products. Peter had been assigned to the Masks Unit. All other
workers were disabled, except the supervisors. Peter was paid for HK$10,000 per
month.

Peter got two good counterparts in G3000 – Terry (his ex-supervisor in the Masks
Unit) and Peggy who worked in the Gloves Unit. Things changed 3 months ago when
Terry left and a new supervisor, Bella, took the lead in the Masks Unit. Peter’s
employment was terminated recently.

G3000 claimed that Peter’s termination was due to his continued misbehavior even
after several warnings. G3000 alleged that Peter was verbally abusive to Bella. He
did not obey her direction and once hit her. Peter denied the allegation, rebutting that
Bella was always picking over his work.

Peter had filed an unfair dismissal claim in the Court. The matter had been referred to
mediation. Mr Tim (Party A, CEO of G3000) and Ms Sunshine (Party B, Chairlady
of Sunshine Disability Supporters Organization, representing Peter) would participate
in the mediation.
