Description

The Camco* RK Latch is a 1-1/2 in spring loaded, ring-style Latch that anchors
retrievable gas lift valves and side pocket accessories in the appropriate MMG,
MMRG, MTG, or MMM Series mandrels. The RK Latch features two o-rings on the
latch stop that provide a debris barrier in the top of the mandrel pocket.
The RK Latch is installed and removed from the side pocket mandrel using standard
slickline methods. A minimum amount of force is required to install the Latch. This is
particularly important in deviated wells where forceful downward jarring is not
always possible.
The Latch components are available in either stainless steel or nickel alloys for
corrosion resistance in wells with high concentrations of H2S and/or CO2. The
metals used conform to NACE standard MR0175 for “Sulfide Stress Cracking
Resistant Metallic Materials.”

Features and Benefits

• Compact and simple design is cost effective and reliable

• Provides a debris barrier
• Easy to retrieve
• Minimum amount of force is necessary to install
• Easy to run in deviated wells
• Latch components are available in stainless steel or nickel alloys
• Corrosion and stress cracking resistant

8.0 Recommended Supplies
Cleaning Fluid
Use appropriate cleaning solvents. Since solvents of
this type do not leave an oil film, it is essential that
thread and seal lubricant be applied as specified.
Wear rubber gloves when using cleaning solvents.
Thread Lubricant
Use Bestolife 2000 or equivalent for body joint
threads.
Thread Sealant/Adhesive
Use a thread sealant/adhesive (Red Loctite 271 or
equivalent) where specified. See text for proper
application.
