Critique Paper: Nutrition Month at National

College Science and Technology 2019

June 30, 2019, National College of Senior High school was celebrated Nutrition Month
with the collaboration of the morning show Unang Hirit. Unang Hirit is a Philippine television
morning newscast show broadcast by GMA Network and has UH Barangay Blowout segment
which they are visiting certain places receives prizes from the morning show similar to Juan for
all, all for Juan segment of noontime show Eat Bulaga. Unang Hirit visits NCST yearly as they
celebrating a specific event with giving prices and broadcast it nationwide. Also one of its
purpose why NCST willing to cooperate with Unang HIrit is to boost its popularity and so that
students who enrolled are going to enjoy their stay.
 
           The Unang Hirit show is going to start at 4 AM so the student must be there early before
the show and the broadcast starts. As soon the students got there, the technical group had
arrived before us and somehow they already arranging things they needed like lightings,
cameras, and other stuff. When Unang Hirit is going aired soon, one of the hosts of Unang Hirit
is requested to please form a line by section and gave us balloons as our props. Then, later on,
the dance group of NCST SHS is form in front and they start requesting the student to get ready
to dance that we just learned the other day, and when the song is playing we’ve started to
dance. They’ve started the broadcasting as we continued dancing with the special cast Juancho
Trivino, he joined 2016 and “katambay” Dionita Rose who is their special guest. After half of
minutes dancing, the students felt tired so the host told us to take a rest before the next
broadcast. Some of the students wandered around the campus and some take rest while
waiting for the next call. After that, they’ve called us again to watch or become the audience of
a little game they brought which it will be broadcast. There is four chosen contestant to play
this game and at the end of this game they receive a prize which is money worth one thousand
to 5 thousand. When the game is decided that one of the contestant had one, he was going to
enter the final round which it will be continued later then that how’s the second broadcast end.
Most of the students are sleep deprived and want to back to sleep, also complaining for the
ceiling fan that they didn’t turn on because the atmosphere is hot because it’s crowded of
students. And for the last broadcast, the winner goes onto the final and wins the prize worth
five thousand which he had to pick one of the boxes that contains prize. After that, the cast
moves into food tasting section where they taste different foods prepared by the students of
the HRS or Home Economics course and TVL or Technical Vocational course. It’s a different
delicacy that the ingredients are, of course vegetables because it’s Nutrition Month. When the
morning show is finished at 7 am, they had shown gratitude for cooperating and of course all of
us said our thanks for featuring and celebrating with us at the National College of Science and
Technology. Before we release or allowed to go home, Sir. Bernie Manalo announces some
details for tomorrow’s activity which is the second-day celebration of Nutrition Month.
 
           For much I love to be seen at the screen of our television, or seen around the nation, I
had enjoyed the event so far but the only thing that I am concerned about where the part of
releasing us and for not turning on the ceiling fan. Yes, the event occurred was exceptional
because most of the students had enjoyed it and the activities is sure fun but as for the school, I
do have some complaints because first they didn’t turn on the ceiling fan which the students
are sweating not because of the morning temperature but because of number of students in
there. Lastly, is the announcement that takes thirty-minutes to finish, most of the students are
tired and want to get some sleep because they called us at 3 AM. If they want some changes,
please tell the students if the ceiling fan is malfunctioning and the announcements, please
make it short.
