LITERATURE REVIEW

Introduction:

As we all know, technology is increasing rapidly. Now a day in advance period, there is a tough
competition between organizations just because of global and technological changes. Everyone is
trying to give their best through their effective and efficient quality work. Employee rights is
very important in every organization. It’s a difficult task to manage employees where cultures
are different. In every organization leadership is very important in every aspect for employees in
order to achieve success, targets, task, organization goals and objectives. That’s why in the
present time organizations are worried about enhancement of productivity and advancement. We
need to focus more on quality leadership[ CITATION Naw14 \l 1033 ].

In order to check behavior of employees towards their work in organization it is important to


push them, motivate them through necessary implications. Leadership plays avital role. Finding
and recognizing leaders is difficult as well as confusing task. Combine efforts of both employees
and leaders can enhance the productivity and improve the quality of work. It will also result in
proper functioning of organization[ CITATION KDe11 \l 1033 ].

For clarification, Different definitions of motivation are define by different researchers according
to their own concepts. The word motivation means “to move in search of achieving goals and
objectives”. It’s a Latin word. Some researchers define motivation as “aim to motivate” or
“desire to do work”.[ CITATION MAB10 \l 1033 ] defines that there are three main essentials on
which motivation is based on. They are drive, need and incentives. There is a strategy or we can
say a power that focus us to get the required fulfillment with satisfaction.in order to encourage
employees to achieve set goals and get satisfied leaders are one who always lead. Their
leadership plays and important role. Every individual has power that exist in order to achieve
accomplish objectives.

This help us to study that what is the impact of transformational leadership on employee
motivation. In banking sector what is the impact of transformational leadership.

2.1 Employee Motivation:

(M.A, Nawaz, and M.M, 2010) Motivation is a key to success for employees to achieve set goals
and objectives. Motivation is a power which convey employees to accomplish towards success.
In business world success is based on proper determination of human resource, accurate selection
and arrangements of employees according to their capabilities. Instruct representatives to use
appropriate motivation strategies to get motivate[ CITATION Sel15 \l 1033 ].

[ CITATION NKo16 \l 1033 ] Motivation is a procedure that guide individual passion, way of
individual extra time activities and general qualities, efforts of an individual to achieve certain
goals and objectives for future success. Motivation is an instrument which impact on our
personal conduct for achieving desired result.

There are some motivational components which are basic and very important in organization for
employee performance. Performance is depending upon how individual is performing their job,
what are their personal skill and how that are handling them. Its depend upon individual’s
abilities according to their activities. It is not necessary that motivated person is a good
performer. On other side if we see the mechanism high level of motivations is needed for high
level of productions.

Employee motivation is categorized into two type’s intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic
motivation conducts individual happiness, personal desire, personal choice and interest. On other
side extrinsic motivation ask us to do something which motivates you.

 Motivation depends upon necessities of human which is produces inside the followers.
 Motivation is continuous procedure in which new needs arises when individual previous
needs fulfilled.
 Motivation is difficult procedure because motivational need of every person is different
from each other.

To motivate employees, successful organizations utilize techniques which are positive and
unique to compete with their competitors. It wouldn’t be easy for organization to progress or to
achieve success when employees are not motivated towards their work and performance.
