To Whom it May Co ncern:

I am an Arizona State University junior studying Informatics and am interested in filling the
position of Cloud Technical Solutions Engineer for Infrastructure as listed on the Google Careers
website. After researching for positions, this listing was extremely intriguing, and I greatly
enjoyed speaking with you all at Grace Hopper in October of 2019 and still have continued
interest. Throughout my college experience I’ve developed a strong knowledge of Java through
multiple classes as well as becoming a teaching assistant during the Fall 2019 semester for CSE
110: Principles of Programming with Java. My troubleshooting and communication skills were also
improved through not only my time as a teaching assistant but also working as a grader to
improve individuals’ knowledge on Java topics like recursion and graphical user interfaces.

During Fall 2019, I worked in a team of 3 during the semester to create a fully functional
website with backend login capabilities, which helped me learn communication skills. I also
gained familiarity with GitHub during a hackathon in October of the same year, finding the open
source capabilities essential to our success with so many individuals working on the same
project. While most of my time has been spent learning Java, I also have taken time to work on
building upon my skills with HTML, CSS and JavaScript with a web development class also taken
in Fall of 2019. During the Spring of 2020, I also created a website to discuss my level of
computer literacy as well. I believe these are all important skills listed in the job description that I
fully possess.

I’m excited to continue our conversation as my prior experience will make me an asset to
the Infrastructure department. I will follow up with my recruiter within a week, but feel free to
contact me at any time via email, ejharri8@asu.edu or phone 620-253-6189. Thank you for
reading.

Sincerely,

Elizabet h Harris
