Essay about Makoto Shichida method

Are all students born with geniuses? All of researchers answered this question. Such as Professor Makoto
Shichida led a worldwide revolution in education which is changing the way we understand children, their brain
capabilities and their learning styles. He was a well-known figure in Japan, having committed the last 60 years to
developing techniques to stimulate the early development of the brain. Shichida believed that all children are born
geniuses and the purpose of education is not to teach knowledge but to develop a child's abilities at a young age.
One of his method is based on first question. The following principles are:

 All children are born geniuses

 Parent-children bonding is extremely important
 The right brain dominance of very young children presents a unique opportunity for learning
 Children should be stimulated through all their five senses
 Repetition and consistency are the keys to success in teaching

According to Shichida, we are all born with the potential to develop certain capabilities. This potential can be tapped into
easily during the first few years of life, when brain growth is at its most rapid. Shichida centers encourage teaching
multiple languages from birth, and training children to develop photographic memory and perform rapid mathematical
calculations, among other skills.

The Shichida method requires that parents carry out course-related activities with their child at home, usually
amounting to 30 minutes a day of practice. Parents are encouraged to focus on their child's brain development rather than
academic performance.

Left brain controls things like logic, written and spoken languages, scientific ability and number skills. The Shichida
method targets the development of the right brain which is responsible for the photographic memory ability, computer-
like calculation ability, intuition and creative imagination. All these skills can be acquired by doing exercises that
stimulate the right brain. All these skills can be acquired by doing exercises that stimulate the right brain. The idea of my
child having these skills sounds very exciting to me, considering that I have a very bad memory. If I can help my child
develop even some of these skills, I would consider myself an accomplished parent.
In case you are wondering if this method only develops right part of the brain, the answer is – the activities include both:
exercises for right and left brain, .

According to Dr. Shichida, the idea is not to cram kids with knowledge but to teach them the capability to learn very fast
when they need to later.

I recently discovered a fascinating educational method by Makoto Shichida that focuses on the development of the child’s
right brain. I’ll try to interesting information and start to apply it to our activities with my toddler right away.

Both parts of the brain have different information processing methods. The left brain processes information via language
while the right brain processes information via sensory images stored in the memory. Children who develop right brain
memory can instantaneously memorize what they see, as if they are taking a photograph. The left brain is the brain of
words, we use it every day so it’s well developed. In order to make the right brain work well, it’s important to do image
training every day. All children are born geniuses.
