Treatment & Narrative breakdown

Narrative:
The video will start with showing its name and record label.
First up in among the 4 characters would be the author. He
will be present in an auditorium (which will be at our
school, LGS JT Boys). The setting would be a book launch
event where there would be audience present to listen the
author read his book to them. The audience would suddenly
start to leave the auditorium, showing that they’re
uninterested. This would make the author enraged and storm
out of the auditorium.
Next up would be the painter, we wouldn’t know what to draw
as his creative slowdown would cause him to take out his
frustration on the canvas by ruining it. The setting would
be an empty wall and an empty with low lighting.
Then comes the musician, he couldn’t get the melodies right
and as I mentioned in the synopsis before, all the
characters are facing issues in their professions. The
musician would get furious and break the guitar stings. The
setting for this scene would be a living room. The musician
could either be sitting on a couch or on the floor, we’ll
decide that while shooting.
Last but not the least, our footballer. The footballer would
try to do some tricks indoors and fail over and over again
that would make him feel disappointed and not only that, his
coach shows up and scolds him. The setting for this scene
would be the locker room at our school.

Performance:
For performance we would be using the wall present in
painter’s scene. The 4 different colored clothes we bought
will be attached to the one by one to set a theme. The same
characters would be performing in same colored clothes as
the wall-cloth. There would be 4 gaps between the chorus for
about 5 second each which will be filled by the random
scenes of the 4 characters.

Narrative:
So far 2 minutes and 20 seconds have been passed. In this
narrative scene, we decided to let the audience figure out
the meaning behind what we’re going to show. To make the
whole thing dramatic, here’s what we did. The scene would
start from author again and this time he will be writing
something on a manuscript, when he turns the page back
whatever he wrote disappears. For the painter, he uses
colored paint to draw but it changes to black when the brush
touches the canvas. For the musician, he would be playing
the guitar with broken strings (strange isn’t it? Something
for the audience needs to dig out). The athlete on the field
would try to take a free-kick but the ball won’t move.

Performance:
The second performance would again be on the chorus and
start from 3:23. Same as the previous one with different
colored background with mid and close-up shots.

Narrative:
From here the rest is all about narrative. As I drew on the
story boards the last 5 frames will be present here. At this
point all the characters would be outdoors, they would grab
different vehicles except for footballer. The author would
grab a bicycle, painter in a car and musician on a
motorbike. At some point they would go down the same streets
and meet at a dead end. Here they will take their boxes off
their head and feel sense of belonging and value.
