McLean County Art Center Launches ‘Growing Time’ Exhibit by Melissa Oresky

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The McLean County Arts Center will launch Melissa Oresky’s
“Growing Time” exhibit for the Bloomington-Normal community to admire. This exhibit will
begin January 10 – February 14, 2020. McLean County Arts Center is holding a reception for
“Growing Time” on Friday, January 17 from 5-7 p.m. During the reception, Melissa Oresky will
present her entire collection of work for the community to attend.

Oresky’s exhibit will highlight her focus on plants, their forms and their modes of being. Her
work attempts to connect plantlike processes rather than direct plant images.

“My main goal of this exhibit is to express my kinship with plant life and how it has played a
huge role in my life,” said Melissa Oresky. “When I was a child, my mother and I would go on
wildflower hunts and ever since then, I wanted to share my passion for botany through art.”

The “Growing Time” exhibit is open to the anyone in the Bloomington-Normal area to attend if
they’re interested in admiring works of art created by local artists. There will be free snacks and
beverages offered during the reception.
