 Introduction

In the present work of the English III course, activity 3 is developed: Writing assignment, this
activity consists of writing a text according to the instructions given in the Guide, which is in the
collaborative work environment. It is based on the themes developed in units 1 and 2.

Through this work, students are expected to acquire the ability to write in English, write short
texts in a coherent manner. academic topics related to its discipline and semantics of use
adequately.

The topics to develop in the course of the activity are, compound adjectives, modal verbs, future
tense, prepositions and verbal phrases. Each student makes the delivery of their individual
product with the following steps. In the first part, choose a photograph of the most beautiful
Colombian city you've been in, send the image to the forum and make a brief comment about
that place. In the second part, send your answers to the forum about the city. And in the third
part, you must write your own text about your ideal city of Colombia to visit on your vacations
and send it to the forum.

The next stage and the last step is the compilation and delivery of collaborative work, where
each student must send their comments about the contributions of classmates to the forum.
 Objectives

General objective

To develop competences in the student so that he / she obtains abilities of dexterity in front of the
writing in English, by means of short texts of coherent form, on academic topics related to the
English course and using semantics properly.

Specific objectives

 Understand the topics and make use of compound adjectives in the text.
 Identify the modal verbs in the text.
 Recognize and underline future times in the writing.
 Make use of and identify prepositions and verbal phrases in the text.

Part 1

City St. Augustine

St. Augustine is not a city, is more of a village, but although it is not so great, it is a place with
many places to visit and explore the most interesting to visit is the Archaeological Park, this is a
very nice and quiet place where you can breathe pure air and knew ER on how the people lived
many years ago.

There are also many restaurants of typical food where the atmosphere is very pleasant and in
contact with nature, there are many activities outdoor activities such as horseback riding, hiking
and extreme sports such as rafting.

Ultimately it is a very beautiful place to take a break

Part 2

Where is the city?

It lies south of Huila 30 minutes from the municipality of Pitalito

How it is the city?

It is a small and quiet village with old houses surrounded by nature

The climate in St. Augustine is varied but usually it's cold also there are perfect sunny days

In my vacation visiting the city of Medellin, I will be nervous until the aircraft take-off but once
there I know that you leave knowing places as the pueblito paisa and the plaza botero, continue
my trip to guatape, it gets a little retired from the city, but it's worth the worth visiting it.

It is located in the Aburrá Valley, in the central cordillera of the Andes and it is crossed by the
Medellin River, city climate is warm throughout the year, the average temperature is 22 ° c due
to the pleasant spring-like climate of year-round Medellin is known as "The city of eternal
spring"

There are many things which could do in Medellin as visit the Botanical Garden for a day of
quiet, a good place to visit is also the Park explores where you can enjoy nature and technology

The photo was taken in October 2016 accompanied by my girlfriend, we traveled to process
some documents and also know the city.

Part 2: Answer the following questions about the city you chose:

a. Where is the city?

The city is located in the center of the country and in the department of Cundinamarca.

b. What is the city like?

I like the clothing store, people and food

c. What is the weather like?

In general, the weather is cold, usually hot when is sunny, I prefer the could for sleep.

The city is very big because it is the capital of the country

e. What is the best thing about it?

Visit to the Capital

The city is located in the center of the country is called Bogota and is the capital of the country,
it is cold weather, usually at night it is cold and during the day it is not too cold, but it is still a
place with a cold climate, and in many places a lot of hail falls..

It is a very big city with many inhabitants, big shopping centers, I would like to buy many things,
people are very friendly and I found it a very safe city and with very good public transport, it is a
very nice place since it has many green areas.

Because it is the capital of the country has a big number of activities ranging from practicing
different types of sports, go to the cinema, shopping, historical sites, museums, concerts, and
other activities related to free time.

The negative part of being in this type of city is the traffic, if all its inhabitants moved in their
own transport, mobility problems would be very serious, on the other hand it has a very good
security problem and also the standard of living is very high, the positive part is that you can buy
almost everything at the level of technology, and I will visit historical sites, which are very
important culturally, are part of the history of the country.

in the picture are 2 of my best friends and me. We are in a very beautiful city. Your name is
Bogota. In the background photo is a beautiful place with a lot of history called "Plaza de
Bolivar". this hubicado in the center of Bogota, there very old constructions with homeland
history. It is a place where there are many tourists. You can interact and feed thousands of
pigeons that are there in the place. It is a city that everyone should visit

DESTINATION FOR VACATIONS

If I can travel in this time the weather is very hot ideal to be on the beach, although the
temperature can change. It's not so safe so when I'm away I'll take precautions. then I will camp a
blocked. and maybe you buy an umbrella.
 Are you looking forward to your holiday? the best place is "san
andres" is an island with lots of beach and you can see a sea of seven colors, also has a beautiful
aquarium and the best hotels. when I go I will visit the aquarius.

I will share with you the most recent photo of a trip The last weekend I traveled from my
hometown to visit the miraodr of the lime, it is a very frequently visited place, we shared
there with my cousins and some friends who accompanied us. About 15 minutes from the
city center of Neiva in the municipality of Palermo, you will find Mirador La Calera, a
beautiful site where you can see a spectacular view of the city of Neiva and the green of its
landscapes.
This place is located very close to the city of neiva for this reason is veryvisited there are
many people who wanted to spend a quiet afternoon harmonious, this place also has pool
restaurants, where we can enjoy our food Huilense.

 is located in the municipality of palermo huila, about 15 minutes from the urban area of neiva,

the mirador of  the calera, is a very frequently visited place, because its beautiful landscapes
attract the attention of its visitors, besides enjoying a warm climate for a good swim in the pool

Part 3: The perfect place to rest
I wish to travel to the island of san andres, which is one of the largest islands that are part of the
archipelago of san andrés, providencia and santa catalina, its total extension is 26 km², san
andrés is located 80 km from the nicaragua coast and 775 kilometers northwest of the coast of
colombia. The 26 km² of surface make it the largest island in the archipelago.
The easiest way I found to get to the island is by plane, I have been thinking of locating me in
any airline can be bogota, medellin cali and there I can take a course to the airport in San Andres
located 10 minutes from downtown.
As I have observed and that this island a warm weather the temperature is between 26 and 29
degrees Celsius, a friend I narrate here predominate two seasons summer and winter when there
are storms in the Caribbean winds blow strong, this island has been threatened by a couple of
hurricanes that endanger this prestigious tourist site
What most catches the attention of this island are the tourist sites mostly beaches, north end is
the center of San Andrés, is concentrated hotel zone, commercial, banking and government,
charquitos is one of the islands calmer, the blowing hole is a sea abyss surrounded by rocks, the
loma inhabited entirely by natives, the rock is a rocky wall located above the level of the airport,
I can Visit those.
My best wishes to travel to this place is to dive and observe from another point the natural wealth
that is here, we can do ecological tours, also visit the botanical garden, the aquarium. Also swim
in the crystal clear waters surrounding this beautiful place.

PART 1.
Here I am in the viewpoint of the Magdalena river, it is located in the department of Huila in the
municipality of Isnos.
This is a place where you can appreciate a spectacular landscape, you can see the mountains,
nature, the Magdalena River and the roads around it.
This place is extensive, it has a swimming pool, a soccer field; and you can also ride a horse.
In this place you can practice extreme sports, such as the skycoaster. This sport is carried out on
the Magdalena viewpoint, which is 300 meters above the Magdalena river. The person climbs to
12 meters of atura on the viewpoint with a harness and jumps.

PART 2.

 Where is the city?
Isnos is a municipality of Colombia, is located in the south of the Department of Huila
 What is the city like?
Isnos is a municipality with an immense biological and landscape richness. For that reason, it is a
tourist place. In this city there are many natural places to visit. In the urban area you can find
artisanal trade and more about its culture.
 What is the weather like?
The climate in the municipality of Isnos is warm and temperate.
 How big is the city?
The municipality of Isnos is small, with a total area of 361 square kilometers, where the rural
area is larger than the urban area. In the center of the municipality is the central park and the
Church.
 What is the best thing about it?
The best thing about this municipality is its natural wealth, being able to be close to nature and to
be able to enjoy these beautiful landscapes.
 How is the traffic in the city?
The traffic in the municipality of Isnos is very good, it is not congested and the vehicles circulate
normally. When there are cultural celebrations or parades, the traffic is complicated.

Paragraph 1. Location and weather of the city

The ideal city of Colombia that I would like to visit in my vacations is Santa Marta.
Is a city located in the Caribbean Sea in the department of Magdalena, in northern Colombia.
The average temperature is twenty-eight degrees, and its lowest temperature is twenty-three
degrees Celsius.
Predominates a semi-arid climate in its urban part.
Paragraph 2. Description of the city
Has more than one hundred beaches and a snowy sierra.
Santa Marta has an architectural heritage unequaled.
Here is the statue of Tribute to the Tayrona ethnic group, located in a roundabout in the first race
with street twenty-two.
There is also a statue of Pibe Valderrama, sports idol of Santa Marta.

marine life.
You can go visit one of the most popular national parks in Colombia, the Tayrona and the nearby
beaches. You have to check out this place. It is fantastic.
Negative aspects: You will find mosquitoes that can be annoying.
You should cover yourself well, use sunscreen and you shouldn't expose yourself to the sun for a
long time.
 Conclusiones

With the development of the work topics were studied such as the compound objectives, modal
verbs and prepositions. He also helped us to strengthen the writing of short texts and apply them
each one of the issues seen, know what type of text or phrase can use verbs and prepositions and
in this way to create coherent texts.

In addition to acquired knowledge, helped us work as a team, to review each of the contributions
