Reflection #7
For today’s reflection, I will be talking about how people have struggled economically
looking for jobs to pay rent, bills, and to maintain their sons with food, etc. During the pandemic
of COVID-19, the people who have been affected the most are the ones who have less education,
I found on the internet that black Americans were hospitalized at higher rates than whites for
COVID-19. In New York City, more Hispanics per capita are succumbing to the illness than any
other ethnic group. That means that there is something in the Hispanic community that we are
not doing good. The number of people infected started to decrease in the United States because
of social distancing guidelines and stay-at-home orders, most barbershops, churches, and
community centers are closed and keep Hispanic and other people from not being in contact.
Although this terrible situation has lasted many weeks Latinos across the U.S. are still prepared
for their battle against the coronavirus, this crisis that threatens to leave many in this already
vulnerable population sick and destitute. Low-paying to Latinos are making them not pay rent,
and those who don’t have a job are just stressed thinking what to do to get bills paid, which is
very sad. For example, I lose my home and my job because of COVID-19. It's hard to be in
situations like this but we all will get better by following the rules that the government is telling
us, doing social distancing, using face masks, washing hands for at least twenty minutes, etc.
Also, I hope everyone, not just the Latino community, gets better, this will last in history and we
have to thank the doctors and scientists who are trying their best to help every community.
