Artifact: Outstanding Performance in FitnessGram Testing
Date: Fall 2017 Reflection:
After completing several different activity course throughout my Physical Education
career at SUNY Cortland, one class that I really benefited from and excelled in was Health Related Fitness. I demonstrated that I was physically competent and had the ability to not only perform the skills of the FitnessGram correctly, however, reached and outstanding level. My certificate is an example of how I had the capability to reach the healthy fitness zone for all four components which included cardio, curl ups, push-ups, and sit and reach. By hitting all components, this shows that I have all aspects of physical fitness which include cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength and flexibility. And by doing so, my certificate determines and proves that I have physically capable to demonstrate skillful areas as well as health enhancing levels of fitness. I strongly believe this is a critical aspect of a physical education teacher because if one does not have the ability to reach and maintain at least three of the four healthy fitness zones, it will be a struggle to pass that along and teach future students the same. I strive to be the physical education teacher that are student’s role model and inspiration. In order to achieve that and pass along my love and devotion for physical education and fitness this certification proves that I can properly do so.
