Course Description

CLSR course is aimed to focus on the basic principles of personal,


interpersonal, and corporate leadership and its linkages with social /
community responsibility. We will explore variables that relate leadership
with culture, coaching and human behavior. Emphasis will be placed on
leadership models, leadership styles, and character and traits of leadership.
In addition, we will explore a variety of other topics including developing
your personal leadership style, Organizational behavior, change, diversity,
learning organization, mentoring and vision. By the end of the course, you
would have increased your personal and interpersonal awareness,
sharpened your analytical skills, and gained a greater understanding of the
complex issues facing today's corporate leaders.

Class Room Conduct & Methodology:

In this class we will be using an interactive approach to learning, as well as multiple methods of
learning. Thus you must be prepared to utilize all of the studying skills you have. Some time
will be set aside in each class, either for practical problem solving in some form, inter-active
discussion. I will suggest the mandatory and recommended reading after each class, as well as
the practice questions to look at. You may also be given assignments. After a particular topic
has finished, you may get a ‘surprise’ quiz in the next class. However, we will have no quizzes
in the first 2 weeks of class. Hence the most important thing to do is to study regularly and
prepare for each class.

Final Project will be conducted in groups. Students will have to submit a formal written report and will present in class. Topics of the project and
guidlines will be issued separately in class.
