Miss Kelly was very clear in her lesson planning. Modifications for all levels were always included.
Miss Kelly always took her students into consideration while planning her lessons. Each ability and need
was considered in her plans.
3-Outcomes are clearly related, correct level of rigor for individual learners, and measureable
Each student level is reached during Miss Kelly's lessons. whole group instruction is followed by small
group and one-on-one if needed.
3-Uses varied texts supplemented by a variety of external resources, including the Internet.
Miss Kelly had access to the Promethean Board and each student has an iPad. She used all technology
that was available to her for her lessons.
3-Lessons are aligned to instructional outcomes with reasonable time allocations, significant cognitive challenge and
differentiation for different groups of students.
Miss Kelly planned her lessons around the different levels of her students.
3-Assessments are well designed, varied and the results are used to plan for future instruction.
Miss Kelly designed her own assessments for her lessons taking into account the levels of her students
and lessond to come.
Miss Kelly has such a wonderful rapport with her students! Thgey look forward to seeing her each day.
When they learned that her last day will be next week, many students cried.
3-The classroom culture is one of high expectations where students understand their role as learners and
consistently expend effort to learn.
Students know that when they walk into the classroom they are ready to learn. They are excited to show
how much they know and want to learn more. Miss Kelly has made the kids feel that they can do
anything!
3-Routines for distribution and collection of materials is efficient and transitions between activities are smooth.
Miss Kelly had a routine in place with assigned helpers. It was a daily routine for the first graders so they
knew what was expected.
Miss Kelly established rules/consequences right from the students from the beginning. She handles
behavior issues immediately before they can turn into bigger issues.
1- The classroom environment is unsafe, or learning is not accessible to many. There is poor alignment between the
arrangement of furniture and resources, including computer technology, and the lesson activities.
The classroom has flexible seating. Students can easily move around the room. Furniture can also be
moved around as needed. The students carry their iPads with them so they are readily accessible.
Miss Keely is very clear when giving direction. The students can easily understand and follow her
directions.
Miss Kelly asks high order questions in all subject areas and conversations with the students. She is
ready to switch her questioning as needed.
3-Learning tasks and activities are challenging and scaffolded with appropriate pacing for engagement.
Miss Kelly differentiates and modifies all lessons and activities based on individual students.
3-Activities are aligned with outcomes, designed to be engaging/active and well-paced to the learners
Miss Kelly plans her lessons with the intention of engaging each and every student. She has accomplished
this.
3-Assessment is regularly used during instruction by teacher and/or students, resulting in accurate, specific
feedback that advances learning.
Miss Kelly does formative and summative assessments on a regular basis during each subject arera.
3-Makes minor adjustments as needed to instruction plans and accommodating student questions, needs and
interests.
Miss Kelly has had quite a few interruptions during her lessons (firedrill, lockdown,unannounced assembly,
technology issues) and has seamlessly adjusted to those circumstances unphased.
Miss Kelly discusses her lessons after teaching and reflects on what worked and what can be improved.
She handles feedback well and uses the critique to improve on her next lesson.

3-Assists with the maintaining of information on student completion of assignments, progress on work, and records
effectively
Miss Kelly completes the daily attendance and grading work daily. She imputs the grades on OnCourse the
same day.
3-Candidate fully understands teacher’s role in communicating with families in a professional, culturally sensitive
way regarding student progress and instructional programming
Miss Kelly interacts daily with parents at dismissal. She was at every Parent/Teacher Conference and
spoke to thge parents about their child's progress.
23. Professional Responsibilities: Participating in a Professional Community (D4d, InTASC 10, NJPTS
11)
3-The candidate has supportive and collaborative relationships with colleagues and frequently volunteers to
participate in school, district, and community events.
Miss Kelly was part of the first grade PLC; incorporating Social Studies and Science into Language Arts.
She has also formed relationships with the staff in the building, joining in on Professional Development as
well as fun activities.
3-Candidate seeks opportunities for professional development to enhance content knowledge and pedagogical skill
and welcomes feedback from supervisors and mentor teachers to gain insight on practice.
Miss Kelly came in on her own time this summer for three separate Professional Development Days and
has joined in all PD during school time since September.
3-Candidate is known for having high standards of integrity, complies completely with school and district regulations
and actively works to provide opportunities for student success.
Miss Kelly shows professionalism in the way she dresses, the way she adheres to district regulations and
her committment to each child's success.
