MATH TIME – NUMBER 16

Objectives:
This activity will help your child to:
 rote count numbers from 1-50.
 count and make groups of 10 objects.
 attempt to hold the pencil in the tripod grasp.
 establish right or left-handedness.
 trace and write number 16.

How to do the activity:


1. Write number 16 on the A4 size paper using the marker.
2. Ask your child to rote count numbers 1 to 50.
3. Show them the A4 size on which you have written number 16 and emphasise on number
16.
4. Then one by one, put the spoons in the box and count out their numbers.
5. Put the fifteenth spoon. Then, pick the sixteenth spoon and ask your child what will be the
count if you add one more spoon. (Expected answer: 16)
6. Put the sixteenth spoon and say the number 16.
7. Give worksheet JR_D15_MT_WS01 and a pencil to your child.
8. Encourage your child to count the number of ladoos.
9. Then, ask your child to trace and write number 16.
10. Assist your child wherever required.
