The responses in table (8) show that 5 respondents consider emotional shutdown to be the
negative influence on health of youth if they use social networking sites, 2 respondents
consider withdrawal symptoms and 3 respondents consider lack of concentration as negative
effect on social networking sites usage. The results show that majority of respondents agree
that the negative type of influence on health of youth in Oman is excessive use of social
networking.

 The responses in table (6) show that 2 respondents consider bad impression to be the
negative aspect for youth to have excessive use of social networking sites, 3 respondents state
anxiety to be the negative aspect for youth to have excessive use of social networking sites
and 5 respondents supported isolation to be the negative aspect for youth to have excessive
use of social networking sites. This shows that majority of respondents state isolation to be
the negative aspect for youth to have excessive use of social networking sites.
