Carriage-mounted web turnover device BG 51

Description

Web turnover device BG 51 is used to turn

the web through 180°, enabling the web
to be printed on the underside.

Web turnover device BG 51 is mounted on

a carriage which enables you to position
the unit at any desired position within the
printing area of your machine in the
shortest possible time.

The two cross-mounted turning tubes are

supplied with compressed air so that the
web runs on an air cushion in the turnover
area, reducing friction.
It is possible to close off some of the air
holes, allowing webs of narrow width to
be turned over.

1. Safety

Please observe the general safety

instructions at the beginning of these
operating instructions.

Caution:
During cleaning operations, there is a risk
of hands or cleaning materials being drawn
in between the rollers.

Caution:
Risk of cutting injuries through exposed
web edges.

Caution:
Risk of injury through dropping of the web

3.1.1 Carriage

Web turnover device BG 51 is mounted on

a carriage. This enables you to position
the unit at any desired position within the
printing area of your machine. The
carriage is fitted with a clamp which fixes
the position of the web turnover device
securely. The carriage path is arranged as
a rail system above the drive cover of the
base frame.

3.1.2 Web turnover device

The actual web turnover device consists of

a framework, two cross-mounted turning
bars, three horizontal and two vertical
deflection rollers, a cross register adjusting
spindle and an air delivery system.
The four lower and upper air outlet holes
of the two turning bars can be sealed off,
enabling narrower webs to be turned over
without increased air consumption. It may
be necessary to seal off further air holes

3.4 Inserting web

To ensure trouble-free functioning of web

turnover device BG 51 the web path must
correspond to the above sketch.

The web, which comes from base frame

BG 10 or base frame BG 08, is threaded
from below past horizontal deflection roller
4 and over the two horizontal deflection
rollers 8 up to the first turning bar (9.1).
The web must then be threaded round
vertical deflection rollers 7 up to the
second turning bar (9.2). From this
turning bar, the web is threaded through
the upper plate to the first deflection roller
in base frame 10. The remaining web
path depends upon the subsequent
printing method used.
