Teaching Philosophy

Introduction

Education is the basis for the renaissance of societies and their rightful construction,

and without it, individuals in the society cannot carry out their duties and responsibilities

towards the renaissance of society and its development. Educated people are the most

able to pursue their ambitions and achieve their goals in life, unlike the uneducated who

are in no way able to pursue their goals and aspirations in their lives. Similarly, in the

UAE, we are keeping trying to improve qualities of education and make it strong, valid

and high qualities. We strongly believe that good education means build good generation

and will let them able to meet the country's visions.one of most important visions is that

UAE being among the best countries in world by 2021.in this philosophy statement I am

going to write my beliefs about learning and teaching as an educator.

Classroom Environment

I assume that The safe class environment has an important role in raising the level of

students' academic achievement as well as prepare them mentally, physically, and

emotionally to be able to study and do their duties and tasks on a good way. Therefore,

I’m keen on to prepare my classroom to be a perfect. First of all, i arrange their sitting in

comfortable way and to make sure that all of them access to materials, board, teacher

desk flexibly.in addition, There is a place designated for reading “ Reading corner " in the

classroom, including different stories and books. I tend to make students access it.

Sometimes in the guided reading class or during breaks or if student finishes his/her task
while other students still working. It increases the reading skills of the students as they

are able to practice reading during the classroom. It also makes the learning process more

fun; as stories are always fun (Lane & Wright, 2007). I believe that appropriate resources

and materials are a good way to success the lesson and improve student's skills with

understanding. On the other hand, facilities like library and ICT rooms are necessary to

do some tasks and researches. However, backyard work and sport hall are good choice to

do the activities, especially I use them in Math and science activities. Furthermore, I give

my students the chance to share their work and achievements on displays to learn and

growth together. Finally, I obsoletely believe if we need creative and effective students,

we should provide them good environment classroom at first.

Different teaching methods & style

Since several modern methods of education have emerged, all of which depend on the

student as an important element in the educational process rather than relying completely

on the teacher because it make the student to construct his/her skills and knowledge

through active participation in the learning process. I combine lecture method with other

teaching methods .that means I don’t provide information to students and the student

works as the receiver of the information only. For example, I use discussion methods,

which are an effective strategy that teachers can use on the students to make learning

even more effective. Through discussion methods, it engages the students more and

makes them more attentive. This is because, they know they have to offer their opinions

regarding the topic or answers to the teacher’s questions, which automatically makes
them more attentive and puts them in a lower probability position of them getting

distracted.

It also makes learning more effective as when students discuss the topic, they get
to learn more, rather than only listening to the teacher. It makes the topic more
memorable as well, as whatever they contribute to the discussion tend to stick to their
heads in longer periods since it came from them (Larson, 2000). In addition, I use
project method. Through the project method, it makes the students go the extra mile of
working on their own outside the classroom in getting to learn the topic more effectively.
This allows them to gain a better understanding of the topic. As they have to do research
and write from their own mind and knowledge regarding the topic. This engages the
students more towards the topic which makes them understand the topic even more.
Majority of the projects are as well done as a team. This brings the students closer to
each other and enhances collaboration within the class. It also makes the students interact
with each other outside classroom hours which can enhance their interpersonal skills and
social skills and enhance friendships within the class (Wurdinger, 2009). Moreover, I use
solve problem method. Using solve problem method allows the students to learn more
effectively in a sense that they get to work on the problems and use the concept taught in
class by the teacher to solve the problem. This allows them to understand how to create
links and use the resources offered by the teacher in solving the problem. Some of the solve
problems given to the students are also based on real-life scenarios which prepares the
students to be successful even after school. It also builds their problem-solving skills in
making them become more analytical and more insightful (Routman, 2000).

Being a role model:

As a tutor, I firmly believe that a good teacher should be a good role model to their

students. I should show my professionalism and can be trusted by my students. I think

that i have qualities and values can make me a good role model for my students. First of

all, I respect and equal all my students in class and i make them feel that everyone has a
role and value in class. I make sure everyone engage in lesson and i understand everyone

has different abilities and skills. Therefore, each one has appropriate duties and

appropriate method to learn. I am disciplined to coming my class on time ,prepare

everything related to lesson .This is guarantee me get successful lesson and send a

message for my students that I am respect my job and respect them as well. I am positive

and energetic in classroom .I motivate my students and make lesson enjoyable. My

mission is inspire my students to be inspired, creative and interested, safe and feel happy

to learn.
