Improving proofreading skills:

 Remove excess words
o Too much wording can
distract the audience
o Difficult to understand

 Check sentence structure

 Check grammar, spelling,

and punctuation
 Read out loud
o More than once, in case any mistakes were missed the first time it
was read
o Take a break before revising it, the mind will have rested
and be able to analyze it better

o They will provide different perspectives
o Someone else might be able to catch a mistake that was missed

 Reflection-Digital Media Project
As the country was hit with a pandemic, professors continued classes through online. This assignment I
was put in a group. The group and I would have to research a writing problem in the business world.
We chose proofreading as the common business problem. The professor had mentioned prior to the
pandemic the class would be presenting our white paper, and since classes shifted to online, we
would still have to present our paper. The three options we had to use was, power point, video, or
website. We came into agreement on doing a video, but we could not find an app that will help us
with our presentation. So, we are doing a power point. This project helped me see many ways to
present and the significance of it. Being prepared and organized are the two key things to do during
a presentation. Keeping the audience is the main focus. Presenting and being the center of attention
is my biggest fear, but I gave grown to have confidence in myself. In any field of work presenting will
be something to do.
