ASK SOMEONE FOR A DONATION
TO A WORTHY CAUSE:

EGOCENTRIC:

Mr.Zaryab Farooq is a well-known businessman who owns housing societies in

different cities of Pakistan.
Whereas Mr.Dameer Ahmad and Ms.Urooj Ali, are the co-founders of an NGO.
In the critical situation of the Pandemic coronavirus which is all over the world
right now, and due to the COVID-19, there is a lockdown situation in the
country and the daily wagers in our country are facing the worst time
financially, and for helping them, Mr Dameer and Ms Urooj’s NGO is
collecting funds and donation and for the same purpose, they have come at Mr
Zaryab’s house.

As the scene starts, we can see that Mr Dameer and Ms.Urooj are waiting in
the drawing-room of Mr.Zaryab for about an hour.
Mr.Zaryab enters in the room, Mr Dameer and Ms Urooj stand for Mr Zaryab,
but he sits without shaking hands with Mr.Dameer.

Mr.Zaryab: Hi!
Mr.Dameer and Ms.Urooj: (collectively) Hello.
U: Mr.Zaryab we have come here for an urgent issue, we hope you will help us
in that.
Z: Can you please hurry up a little.
D: Sir, as you can see the situation of the whole world right now, every state is
in heavy calamity these days due to COVID-19. And as you know Sir as there is
a lockdown situation in other countries as well as in our country.
U: Due to which tens of millions of daily wage earners across Pakistan are
facing financial deprivation and possible starvation following the countrywide
lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Z: So, what is my role in that? I didn't invent this virus (says jokingly and then
laughs).
D: Sir, as you know our NGO works for the benefit of less-fortunate people, and
the time like this we are collecting some donations from the people, so that we
can provide food and the basic household things to the people effecting from the
lockdown.
Z: And? (while looking at his phone)

U: And we will be very honoured if you also contribute by taking part in some
donations, and funds.
Z: I couldn't understand the need for this, I mean we are regular taxpayers. Why
we have to contribute to the donations?
D: Sir but the tax is something else, and also all the other affluent people are
contributing...
(Mr.Zaryab while interrupting Mr.Dameer)
Z: Look those people are mostly non-tax filers, they don't pay the actual tax,
and for this showing off purpose they donate some money and praise
themselves.
(Mr.Zaryab stands)
U: But Sir at least...
Z: Sorry but my kids are waiting for me, I have to go. Bye.
(And so Mr.Damer and Ms.Urooj left the Mr.Zaryab’s residence in
disappointment)

 As we can see in this dialogue Mr.Zaryab is an egocentric communicator.

OTHER-ORIENTED:

As Mr.Dameer and Ms.Urooj entered in Mr.Zaryab’s house, he welcomed them
properly in his house.
They all entered in his drawing-room, he asked for drinks for the guests from
his maid.
Mr.Zaryab: So yes, tell me Ms.Urooj and Mr.Dameer what's the matter you
both are looking tense.
Ms.Urooj: Sir as you know the current situation of the whole world right now,
every state is in heavy calamity these days due to COVID-19. And as you know
Sir as there is a lockdown situation in other countries as well as in our country.
Z: Yes, I have seen that and I'm well aware of that.
Mr.Dameer: Sir due to which tens of millions of daily wage earners across
Pakistan are facing financial deprivation and possible starvation following the
countrywide lockdown to contain the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus
pandemic.
Z: Yes, you are right, the situation is very bad especially for the less fortunate
and the daily wage earners.
D: Sir, as you know our NGO works for the benefit of less-fortunate people, and
the time like this we are collecting some donations from the people, so that we
can provide food and the basic household things to the people effecting from the
lockdown.
Z: Please openly explain, that what can I do in this matter.
U: Sir, we will be very honoured if you also contribute by taking part in some
donations, and funds.
Z: No, no actually it will be an honour for me, to contribute in your good work.
I will be very happy while doing that.
D: Sir thank you very much for your support.
Z: Look, this is the right of these people and we should help them in this
difficult time. And we should show them that we all are in this together.
U: Sure, you are right sir. Now we will go sir, thank you for your time.
Z: No problem at all.
D: It was very nice meeting you.
Z: The pleasure was all mine.

 As we can see in this dialogue Mr.Zaryab is an other-oriented

communicator.
