Seeking Information Regarding Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP)

Dear Association Head,

My name is Julia Trost, and I am a sophomore enrolled in the Independent Research program
where I am researching Feline Infectious Peritonitis. I personally chose to take this course with
the intent of analyzing a topic in depth and learning more about research methods. I am studying
the possible methods to provide for a diagnosis of FIP I chose this topic because I want to learn
more about FIP, as my one year old cat recently passed away after contracting FIP. Your
association’s purpose relates to my research, and I believe your resources could greatly benefit
me in my research process.

I am wondering about the effectiveness of different diagnositc methods, as there is not a

definitive diagnostic test available. I have examined cerebrospinal fluid and RT-PCR analysis. In
addition, when will a cure be released to the public? I have been researching GS and GC, which
are proven effective. If you have any information related to my questions, I would be ecstatic if
you could send any resources to me.

I hope you will strongly contemplate sending any resources related available to my topic. If you
would like to reach back to me or my teacher, Ms. Sasser, by email or telephone, my email is
trostjulia@gmail.com, and my teacher’s email and phone number are mary_sasser@hcpss.org
and 410.313.7120. I would greatly appreciate any response or feedback, and look forward to
hearing back from you.

Regards,

Julia Trost
