I’m writing in response to your recently advertised position Registered Nurse-CVICU-Days at Johns
Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. I am very interested in this opportunity and believe that my experience
at the University of South Florida’s Nursing program in combination with my eight years of serving in the
U.S. Army as a Combat Medic and my three years of experience as a medical assistant in a busy
orthopedic surgeon’s office make me a strong candidate for the position.

Johns Hopkins is a world-renowned medical institution that brings cutting edge medical research to the
benefits of patients and is always on the search for the most up to date medical practices that their
healthcare providers can offer. As someone who is dedicated to being a lifelong learner, I certainly feel at
home at an institution that has values in line with my own. As the only the Johns Hopkins Hospital
outside of Washington D.C/Baltimore, I look forward to having the opportunity to work in St. Petersburg
which was my first home in Florida starting in 2018 until I moved to Tampa for nursing school at USF in
2022. There is no better feeling than being able to give back and provide care in the community that I am
local to and so very familiar with.

“To provide leadership in child health through treatment, education, advocacy, and research” is a
statement that really hit home for me. I have always strived towards excellency and leadership in my life.
I am a confidant and open ear to those around me, both a leader and healer in my time in the military, an
advocator for my friends and patients when they don’t feel the ability to change their circumstance, and
inquisitive mind that seeks out truth through research when I don’t know the answer or when I feel there
is always the possibility of a better way. I feel comfortable knowing that these attributes align with your
values as well where I can practice my excellence & discovery as is my nature, leadership & integrity I
set as an example to in the Army, respect & collegiality I learned in the military, as well as the diversity
& inclusion I was immersed into in Iraq. I have met people and treated patients from all walks of life in
my professional and personal life and am constantly open to broadening my worldview.

As a loving uncle to two nephews and three nieces, as well as a godfather to my 18-month-old
goddaughter Scarlet, I see no better fit for me than the NICU.

I am looking for a new challenge that will utilize my proficiencies gained in the medical field to their
maximum potential that includes attention to detail, patient care, organization, and strong interpersonal
communication skills in a new way within a hospital setting. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you
