Medical Personal Statement

My desire to pursue a medical career was ingrained at an early age. I am the oldest among my

three siblings, and my leadership skills blossomed early in my life due to the ideals instilled in

me by my family. My cousin, who is my age mate, was diagnosed with leukemia. It was a

difficult period to witness his condition transform to pale. The very few months of regular

hospital visits allowed me to engage with incredible characters of doctors who saved my cousin's

life. Since then, my primary goal has been to follow the same vocation and be in a place where I

can give the necessary skills to safeguard everyone else's lives.

Having personal links to the medical industry has widened my understanding of the complexities

of the more comprehensive picture. It gives inner pleasure and excellent benefits despite its

rigorous nature. The concept of having the ability to assist people's living happier lives appeals

to me and serves as my inspiration. I have encountered firsthand how these doctors serve patients

with empathy and realized it is one of the essential skills in medicine. It is my wish to nurture

and apply it consistently. I am doing additional research and reading medical research papers on

other soft skills needed in the profession to be fully informed.

My enthusiasm for medicine began in secondary school when I read about the treatment history

for my GCSE history lesson. I was astounded by how quickly medical improvements were

achieved, frequently before illness processes were wholly understood. As the captain, I served as

a prefect throughout high school and fully engaged in team sports. Leadership and teamwork

abilities learned at this level have proven invaluable in my job.

My professional experience in Bangladesh and the United States enabled me to compare the two-

healthcare systems and realize how fortunate we are here. I strongly desire to make reasonable

changes in my country while working here. Volunteering at King George Hospital and tutoring

for a few months taught me that every kid has different requirements and learns in various ways.

As a tutor, I understand how crucial it is to personalize how I instruct and present my sessions.

As a doctor, I must be patient-centered in my approach to offering treatment that meets the

patient's requirements. Being at the hospital taught me to respect the multidisciplinary team. I

now understand how trivial a doctor's job can be without the support of radiographers, nurses,

and phlebotomists. I have seen firsthand how a doctor handles patient dissatisfaction using

proper language and tone. Through my internship, I learned that a staff shortage causes high wait

times, and becoming one may not make a significant impact. I have no doubt it will be

worthwhile in the long run. I recognize that the medical profession is demanding, requiring

continual learning throughout the career and the capacity to work long shifts, solve difficulties,

and make intelligent decisions.

I believe that my perspective on the field, which integrates science and leadership, is critical for

the expanding landscape of medicine. Just as new technologies arise, I am required to take on

new tasks as I can only execute these new and unknown medical complications to understand

and synthesize the diverse aspects of medicine. My objective is to bring a fresh viewpoint to the

medical profession and make an impact on my future patients.
