DESIGNING COMPANY LETTER PAD

To design a company letter pad using Word Art and Pictures.

Algorithm:
Step 1: Start  Programs  MS.OFFICE  MS.WORD

Step 2: Open a New document by clicking NEW from the FILE menu.

Step 3: From the INSERT Menu, select Picture  Word Art to select the
Word art style and type the company name.

Step 4: From the INSERT Menu, select Picture and specify the source of
picture that is to be inserted into the letter pad.

Step 5: Save the document and Close by using FILE menu.

MAIL MERGE.

Aim:
To send Interview call letters to various candidates by using Mail Merge.
Algorithm:
Step 1: Start  Programs  MS.OFFICE  MS.WORD
Step 2: Open a New document by clicking NEW from the FILE menu, and
type the required data
Step 3: Select Mail Merge in the Letters and Mailings from TOOLS menu. Mail
merge window opens and enables us to create the mail merge document.
Step 4: Select the type of document (as Letters) which you are working on
and click next (Next: Starting document) at the bottom of the mail merge
window.
Step 5: Select “Use the current document” radio button and click next.
(Select recipients)
Step 6: Select “Type a new list” radio button and click Create link and fill the
required data and save the database in a separate database file.
Step 7: Click Next and click more items link and insert the database field.
Step 8: Click Next: Preview your letters link in the bottom of the mail
merge window, you can view your document merged with the database.
Complete the process by clicking “Next: Complete the merge.” To view
individual letters, click “Edit individual letters” link.
Step 9: Save the document and Close by using FILE menu.

Result:
Thus the interview call letters have been created by using Mail merge and executed
successfully.

Step 4: Enter the required data in the table.

Step 5: To merge the cells, select the cells and click merge button.

CREATING PAY ROLL

To create Employees pay details for the month of September using
MS.EXCEL, workbook and to display the employees earning below Rs.15,000
& above Rs.15,000.
Algorithm:
Step 1: Start  Programs  MS.OFFICE  MS.EXCEL
Step 2: Open a New work sheet by clicking NEW from the FILE menu.
Step 3: Type the necessary data in the work sheet.
For eg: Employee ID, Name, Department, No. of days worked in the
month, Basic salary, DA, HRA, SA, PF, Gross salary, net salary.
Step 4: Calculate the Gross Salary by adding up the Basic salary, DA,
HRA, SA.
Step 5: Calculate the Net Salary by deducting the PF and any other items
from the Gross salary.
Step 6: Place the Cursor in the column heading and click List from the
DATA menu then create list.
Step 7: From the drop down arrow click Customs and specify the Criteria.
Step 8: Save the work sheet and Close by using FILE menu.

Result:
Thus the worksheet containing the employees’ pay details for the month of
September is created and executed successfully.
SALES REPORT

MS.EXCEL and to display the data by using chart.
Algorithm:
Step 1: Start  Programs  MS.OFFICE  MS.EXCEL
Step 2: Open a New work sheet by clicking NEW from the FILE menu.
Step 3: Type the necessary data in the work sheet.
For eg: S.No,. Item Name, Quarter 1, Quarter 2, Quarter 3, Quarter 4,
Total etc.,
Step 4: Fill the available data in the worksheet.
Step 5: Select the Item names, all the Quarters and Click Chart from
INSERT menu.
Step 6: Select the type of Chart and then proceed with the next step as
guided by the Chart window and click Finish, the chart will be inserted.
Step 7: Save the work sheet and Close by using FILE menu.

Result:
Thus the worksheet containing the Quarterly sales data and their
corresponding chart is created and executed successfully.
STUDENTS MARKS STATEMENT

Step 5: Calculate the average from the total.
Step 6: Specify the conditions to display the results and drag it to all the
students.
Step 7: Save the work sheet and Close by using FILE menu.

Thus the worksheet containing the students’ marks statement is prepared with
total and results successfully.
CREATING SLIDE SHOW PREPARATION

To create an advertisement for a product / Company and view the slides
using MS.Power Point.

Algorithm:
Step 1: Start  Programs  MS.OFFICE  MS.POWER POINT
Step 2: Open a New Presentation by clicking NEW from the FILE menu.
Step 3: Design the advertisement as per your requirements.
Step 4: Select the slides and either click Animation schemes or Custom
animation or Slide transition to give animation effects to the presentation.
Step 5: Present the preparation either by clicking View show from
Slideshow menu or by pressing F5.
Step 6: Save the Presentation and Close by using FILE menu.

Result:
Thus an advertisement for a product is created by using MS.Power point and
executed successfully.
PRESENTATION USING TEXT WITH ANIMATION

1. To open the power point click startprogramsms office

2. To insert more slides click insert  new slide or press Ctrl+m
3. To insert a text click the text box and insert it in the slide
4. To insert a text using word Art click the word Art button drawing
tool bar
5. To add a transition to a specific slide
6. Choose Slide Show  Slide Transition
7. Pull down the list in the Effect section and choose the transition
you want.
8. For some transitions, you can select the speed.
9. To use a transition for every slide, click the Apply to All buttons.

PRESENTATION USING IMAGES AND MEDIA FILES

1. To insert a image into your slide


2. click insertpictureform file (To insert a picture from your file)
3. To insert a clipart click the clipart from picture in the insert
menu

5. Use insert  Sound and Movies to select the sound or movie
file
6. Then choose slide show  custom animation
7. Click the Order & Timing tab and turn on the check box for the
sound object that you just inserted.

CREATING SELF RUNNING PRESENTATION

Step 2: Select Blank database from NEW in the FILE menu and specify
the database name and click Create, a new database will be opened.

Step 3: From the Tables tab select “Create table in design table”.

Step 4: Specify the field name and the data type and save the table.

Step 5: Open the table and fill the required data and save it.

Result:

Thus employees’ database is created by using MS.ACCESS and executed


successfully.
QUERY AND REPORT FROM THE EMPLOYEE DATABASE

Algorithm:
Step 1: Start  Programs  MS.OFFICE  MS. ACCESS

Step 2: From the Queries Tab select “Create Query in Design View”.

Step 3: Select the database table from which query has to be designed
and draw the query.

Step 4: Save the Query by giving a name.

Step 5: From the Report Tab select “Create Report by using Wizard”.

Step 6: Select the Table or Query for which the report have to generated.

Step 7: Select the Fields that are to be displayed in the report and click
Finish.

Step 8: Save and Close the database by using FILE menu.

Result:

Thus a Query had designed and reports have been generated from the
employees’ database created by using MS.ACCESS and executed successfully.
CREATE A NEW COMPANY

To create a new Company in the name of RVS, by using TALLY.

Algorithm:

Step 1: Start  Programs  TALLY


Step 2: From the Gateway of Tally, Select Create Company or press Alt+F3.
Step 3: Fill the required data in the Create Company wizard.
Step 4: Click OK, a new Company in named RVS will be created.
Step 5: Save the company by pressing Ctrl+A, and Exit from TALLY.

Result:

Thus a company named RVS was created by using TALLY.


PROFIT & LOSS ACCOUNT

To create and display, Profit & Loss Account of RVS Company by using TALLY.

Step 1: Start  Programs  TALLY


Step 2: From the Gate of Tally, select Accounts information  Ledgers 
create, to create various accounts that are to be maintained.
Step 3: Press F5, to enter the payment details that the company has to
pay.
Step 4: Press F6, to enter all the receipts / Incomes that the company
receives.
Step 5: From the Gate of Tally select the Profit and Loss to view the
Profit and Loss Statement of the company will be displayed.
Step 6: Exit from Tally.

Result:
Thus, the Profit and Loss Statement of the RVS Company was Displayed by
using Tally.
TRAIL BALANCE

pay.
Step 4: Press F6, to enter all the receipts / Incomes that the company

Step 5: From the Gate of Tally, select Display and click Trial Balance to
display the Trial Balance.
Step 6: Exit for Tally.

using Tally.

LINEAR PROGRAMMING PROBLEM USING TORA

Algorithm:

Step 1: Start  Programs  TORA


STEP 2: Select Linear Programming and Click “GO TO INPUT SCREEN”.
STEP 3: Mention the Problem title as LPP
STEP 4: Define the number of Variables and number of constraints and press TAB
Key.
STEP 5: Define the variable X1 and X2.
STEP 6: Formulate the Objective function.
STEP 7: Define the constraints, upper & lower bounds.
STEP 8: Click Solve Button and save the problem if required.
STEP 9: Click solve problem button and select the method to solve the given LPP.
STEP 10: Click the GOTO OUTPUT SCREEN and display the GRAPH or
ITERATIONS.

Result:

Thus the given Linear Programming Problem was solved using TORA.
TRANSPORTATION PROBLEM USING TORA

Step 1: Start  Programs  TORA


STEP 2: Select Linear Programming and Click “GO TO INPUT SCREEN”.
STEP 3: Mention the Problem title as Transportation.
STEP 4: Define the number of sources and number of destinations and press TAB
Key.
STEP 5: Define the cost of transportation from each destinations.
STEP 6: Click Solve Button and save the problem if required.
STEP 9: Click solve problem button and select the method to solve the given
transportation problem.
STEP 10: The Iterations will be displayed in the output window.

Thus the given Transportation Problem was solved using TORA.


CRITICAL PATH METHOD USING TORA

Step 1: Start  Programs  TORA


STEP 2: Select Linear Programming and Click “GO TO INPUT SCREEN”.
STEP 3: Select the Project planning menu.
STEP 4: Mention the Problem title as CRITICAL PATH METHOD.
STEP 5: Define the Starting node, To node, duration, Activity symbol.
STEP 6: Click Solve Button and save the problem if required.
STEP 7: Click solve problem button and select GO TO OUTPUT screen and
select the Output option as Calculation or Bar Chart.
STEP 8: The Iterations will be displayed in the output window.

Result:

Thus the given Project details were used and critical path was using TORA.
PROGRAM EVALUATION AND REVIEW TECHNIQUE (PERT) USING TORA

STEP 2: Select Linear Programming and Click “GO TO INPUT SCREEN”.

STEP 4: Mention the Problem title as Program Evaluation and Review Technique.
STEP 5: Define the Starting node, To node, Activity symbol and Optimistic,
Pessimistic and Most likely time durations.
STEP 6: Click Solve Button and save the problem if required.
STEP 7: Click solve problem button and select GO TO OUTPUT screen and
select the Output option as Calculation or Bar Chart.
STEP 8: The Iterations will be displayed in the output window.

Thus the given Program Evaluation and Review Technique was solved using
TORA.
DATA ANALYSIS USING SPSS

Step 1: Start  Programs  SPSS


Step 2: Go to variable view and define the variables and mention the required
details. (Variable type, width, decimals, values if any, labels, column width, alignment,
measures)
Step 3: Go to data view and feed the data collected.
Step 4: Go to Analyse menu  select Descriptive statistics  Frequencies.
Step 5: Select the variables and click OK. The frequency tables and charts if
mentioned displays in the output screen.
Step 6: Save the output and Exit form SPSS.

Result:

Thus the given data were fed and analysed with the help of SPSS.
CHI SQUARE ANALYSIS IN SPSS

Step 2: Go to variable view and define the variables and mention the required
details. (Variable type, width, decimals, values if any, labels, column width, alignment,

Step 3: Go to data view and feed the data collected.
Step 4: Go to Analyse menu  select Non parametric test  Chi Square test.

Step 1: Start  Programs  SPSS


Step 2: Go to variable view and define the variables and mention the required
details. (Variable type, width, decimals, values if any, labels, column width, alignment,
measures)
Step 3: Go to data view and feed the data collected.
Step 4: Go to Analyse menu  select Compare means  One way ANOVA.
Step 5: Select the Dependent variable and the Factors to which the relationships
has to be identified and click OK.

Result:

To design a form for students mark sheet preparation with MS.ACCESS as back end

Algorithm:

Step 1: Start  Programs  Micro soft Visual Studio  MS Visual Basic 6.0.
Step 2: Open a new form by clicking Open in the appearing window.
Step 3: Design the form as per the requirement by using the Label, Textbox and
Command Buttons.
Step 4: Click Add-Ins Menu  Visual Data manager to open VisData window.
Step 5: From the File menu select New  Microsoft ACCESS  Version 7.0 MDB.
Save the database by giving a name.
Step 6: Database window opens. Right click the properties and click new table.
Step 7: Give a name and save the table and add the required field names and click
“Build the Table” option.
Step 8: Go to DATA button Properties and link it to the database file and record
source.
Step 9: Select all the text boxes and connect it to the data box / manager.
Step 10: Select the text boxes one by one and connect the data field.
Step 11: Double click on the command buttons and write down the codding’s for
the actions to be performed.
Step 12: Run the program by pressing the Run button or by pressing F5 or go to
Run menu  start.

Result:
Thus the given project was run successfully in Microsoft Visual basic.
