ABSTRACT
In the present era, constructions are one of the boons for the economic growth in any country.
A rapid change has taken place in this field from the past decades. Also time and cost are the

important aspects in the construction field. Various equipments are used during construction,
some are manually operated and some other power driven. If a trial has made in transforming
the manual operated equipment to a power driven, time can minimized in performing the
same operation. Among various manually operated equipments used in the construction field,
sand filtering equipment as a vital role and of more use.

In this project, attempt has made to fabricate a power driven multi- purpose sieving machine
for sand filtering in the construction field. Sieving machine is a machine used to separate the
fine sand from sand. The main application of this sieving machine is mainly in construction
filed. It is also used in packing of grains in industry and in flour mills. The main advantage of
this machine is to reduce the work of man who is working in construction filed, moreover it is
economical.

The main working principle of this machine is converting rotary motion of a given motor in
to reciprocating motion of a tray. It is also called screening machine. Initially design has been
done for sieving machine and then fabricated according to the design. The reciprocating
motion occurred to the mesh is basically a single slider crank mechanism. A mesh has fixed
to the reciprocating tray, upon which the sand grains are placed. During the reciprocating
process the fine grained sand is collected at the bottom and remaining sand is dumped into
the waste box.
