Notification
 
The University has received certain representation and grievances addressed to the ‘Covid19
Student Grievance Cell’ (herein after referred as (SGC). It is noted that the Student’s
grievances were in respect of the notification dated May 14, 2020. 

The first meeting of the Covid19 SGC was convened on May 20, 2020 in order to consider
the grievances of the students and found it appropriate to suggest recommendations as
redressal measure. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor has kindly approved the SGC recommendations
as under: - 
 
I. Post Graduate Course:  
1. The last date for submission of the Dissertation is extended and stands as “shall be
submitted on or before August 21, 2020”.
2. The notification issued on May 14, 2020 except the above point number one remaining as
scheduled.
3. The Viva-Voce and other procedure for Dissertation will be communicated in due course. 
 
II. Under Graduate Course – 
1. Research Paper – Word Limit:
The word limit for the research paper stands amended to the extent, in place of “Not less
than 9000 words” is replaced to “shall be not less than 6000 words and not more than
7,500 words”.
2. Plagiarism Rule 
The plagiarism rule as per the UGC Regulation as to any work having the similarity below
10% is permitted. However, any similarity above 10% to the extent of additional
20%, when the work is supported by proper quotations and citations, which are referred in
the research paper/judgments/textbooks will be considered for acceptance. 
3. Deemed Attendance: 
The University notification dated May 14, 2020 communicated that the students shall be
promoted to the next year and stands clarified that student “stand promoted to the next
year” means the rule has been complied with and “the period of lockdown is treated
as attended”. 
4. Back-log Examinations: 
a) The grievances as to the back-log Examination is applicable only to the final year
students. The students having back-log Examinations are permitted to submit the research
paper in lieu of the Examination at the campus. The last date for submission of the
research paper for the back-log subjects shall be July 24, 2020. The Viva-Voce and
other procedure will be communicated later. 
b) The Back-log Examinations for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year shall be as notified by the
Academic Department dated May 15, 2020 and shall be conducted as per the Examination
Regulations after the University reopens. 
5. Verification of Final Year Mid-Semester Papers:
The students shall be provided an opportunity to verity the answer scripts after the
reopening of the University. The Provisional Marks will be processed. However,
any changes in the marks will be computed in the Final Result, keeping in mind the
interest of the students are not affected to that extent. 
6. Moot Court Participation and exemptions rules 
Moot Court Participation and exemptions rules shall be in accordance with
the existing Examination Regulation and the Moot and Advocacy Rules. The MAS has
already notified the same. The students eligible as per the MAS notification may approach
the Examination and are directed to inform the concerned faculty for claiming
exemptions.
