Course Number: PH-CT409
Teachers: Prof. Shyama Rath, Dr Sumalay Roy, Dr Debabrat Mishra, Dr Diganta Das and
Dr Bhaskar Soni.
Online Material/Activity:
1. We have created 4 google groups for the groups P1-P4 to communicate information and
documents pertaining to the course). These are
msc-phys-du-ph-ct409-solid-state-physics-p1-2019@googlegroups.com
msc-phys-du-ph-ct409-solid-state-physics-p2-2019@googlegroups.com

msc-phys-du-ph-ct409-solid-state-physics-p4-2019@googlegroups.com
Along with providing lecture notes, we are also providing links to open source study resources.
An introduction to the study material is also provided to make it easier for them to follow the
topic.
2. We have also created four separate e-mail accounts for these 4 groups (P1, P2, P3,P4-of
approximately 70-75 students in each)to enable them to submit their tutorial assignments.
Grp1.phct409.2019@gmail.com
grp2.phct409.2019@gmail.com
grp3.phct409.2019@gmail.com
grp4.phct409.2019@gmail.com

Any student having difficulty in receiving the material should contact the teachers at the
respective group email address mentioned above.

3. Students have been advised to use free apps convenient for phones (for e.g.
CamScan/ClearScan) through which they can conveniently scan their hand-written assignments
by phone and e-mail them.
4.The teachers have had several live interactions (through Zoom) with them to explain
concepts, clear the doubts and discuss tutorial assignments. Individual e-mail queries are also
addressed over e-mail.
5. Students have submitted two tutorial assignments after lockdown and will be submitting a
third one by 21st May. The numbers of submitted assignments, if required, could be shared
later. They were encouraged to work in groups with the view that this will help them stay
connected with one another in these unusual circumstances.
