Learning Physics with Conceptual and

Problem Based Approach

July 27, 2020 – October 11, 2020

(A 10 weeks Webinar)
Organized by
The National Academy of Sciences, India (NASI), Delhi Chapter.

Program Description
A vast majority of students experience difficulties while understanding complex Physics concepts. Since problem solving
approaches are generally directed at conceptual understanding, this makes the daunting task of solving problems even
more challenging because not only do they not understand the problem-solving process, they also lack in clarity of
approach. A context-based problem solving paradigm is therefore, beneficial for cultivating students’ abilities to establish
and analyze questions, while also allowing them to identify and have discussions regarding the major problem areas to
develop better practices. The purpose of this webinar series is to enrich students' understanding of physics and to develop
the practice of critical thinking in students - for ideas that are clear, significant and original, so that it may enable them to
solve the problems in Physics while also facilitating and promoting the practice of growing into a cohesive and
collaborative network that is actively sharing information and content. The series can thus, be characterized by a dynamic
collaborative approach which means that learners gain a fuller understanding of the topic, having to consider it from all
angles, thereby, giving them ample opportunities to contribute ideas and offer feedback.
