1.0 Introduction
This proposal outlines a science project in which students investigate the prompt “Which
season is worst for allergies and why?”, providing them with a chance to practice the
scientific method and apply lessons learnt in their science classes.

2.0 Procedure
This steps to this project are:
1. Designing the experiment: Students will interpret the prompt, and use it to
derive a hypothesis to test. Students will then design an experiment that tests
this hypothesis. This will teach them how to the basics of how to design
experiments.
2. Data collection: In order to test the hypothesis, students will collect data via
surveys. This will teach them about data collection.
3. Analysis and presentation. Students will learn how to analyse the data collected
and use it to arrive at an answer to whether their hypothesis is true or false.
Students will gain practice in learning how to report their findings.
4. Over the course of this project, students will learn about the scientific method, a
foundational principle in successful study on the sciences in higher grades.
