Uses of Mobile Banking in NSU. 5
Introduction
In the 21st century, uses of a cellular device like (cell phone, tablet, etc.) are become part of the
human life. Cellular devices are becoming more technologically advanced nowadays. At
present people are very much dependents on their cell phone and its make human life very easy
in many ways. Bank know that the standard of living increase, society is evolving so they must

According to the “Mobile Banking” 2018, The definition of mobile banking is the act of

require a cell phone. The customer given a five-digit PIN, by using the PIN customer can
operate all types of banking activity like depositing, withdrawing, account maintaining. The
customer has to give cash to the agent and the agent will initiate the transaction on his mobile

Mobile banking and online banking are parallel to each other but there are some differences
between them. Online banking is referring to do any banking transaction over the internet with

The focus of my research will be whether the NSU students want to use mobile banking service
to pay their tuition and other fees. I would like to find out what types of problem they face to
pay their tuition and other fees through the mobile bank and what types of advantage they get
it from if they use mobile banking. I also want to learn how mobile banking can be used more
effectively in NSU. I hope to find answers to such queries through my research work. This
research will make people aware about the Uses of Mobile Banking in NSU and how it has
Background
Mobile banking is a blessing of modern technology. Mobile banking is growing at a
confounding rate throughout the whole of the world. The overall availability and accessibility
of mobile banking features now play an important role in the consumer's mind.
relationship between banks and their consumers. Now a consumer is wanted to stay connected
to their accounts in virtually. Bangladesh bank has allowed more than 10 banks to launch
mobile banking.
My research shows that mobile banking now becomes a core requirement for consumers of any
bank. The benefit of mobile banking is too many to describe. There are some key reasons why
banking customers are switching to mobile devices to perform everyday banking tasks and
those are given below ("Why banking customers are switching to mobile," 2018)
Ease of use:
Mobile banking facilitates a rich and seamless experience for a customer. It is easier than
traditional banking. Gone are the days' consumer need to visit a branch office to perform simple
banking tasks but with the help of mobile banking, a consumer can perform on a mobile device.
A consumer can custom alerts and push notification on their mobile bank so it gives easy access
to truck all transition. Moreover, a consumer can do mobile banking activity from any location
Availability:
Mobile banking is available all the time. A consumer can perform their tasks from anywhere
and at any time, even at night when the banks are close or on holidays. The only thing a
Accessibility:
Some banking consumers prefer traditional banking like visiting the local branch, the reality is
most consumers are now wanted to access mobile banking. It gives access to their consumers
because it gives a massive range of accessible features and enables consumers to access
different types of service such as push notification balance updates, transfer fun.
Nowadays most of the banks adopt mobile banking that enables customers to do mobile
banking by using the mobile device but the main problem is that some banks are still heavily
embedded running the traditional bank as a result overheads cost in traditional bank increase
day by day. On the other hand, mobile banking doesn’t have any costs of running physical
branches so it is very cheaper so it’s currently acquiring a new customer every day.
Higher security:
There are many innovative ways of protecting of a mobile bank account. Multi-Factor

Research Questions
As it is known to all that mobile banking has a huge influence in our life because of this reason
in my research I decide to investigate about the uses of mobile banking in students of NSU.
whether they want to use mobile banking for paying their tuition and other fees and what do
they think about it. I hope to find answer to all this question.
2. What are the problems the students of NSU face to pay tuition fees and other fees
3. Is it beneficial for the students of NSU if they can pay their tuition fees and other fees
4. Does the mobile bank minimize the time of payment for students?
5. Is it less risky to pay the tuition and other fees through the mobile bank than the
traditional bank?
Uses of Mobile Banking in NSU. 12
Hypothesis
I think students of NSU face different types of problems to pay the tuition and other fees
through the bank. From my research, I expect to find that the benefit the students of NSU get
if they can pay their tuition and other fees through the mobile bank. It is expected that the
students of NSU can save their time, it is less risky, less costly, less complicated to pay the
tuition and other fees through the mobile bank. I think students of NSU wants to use mobile
banking to pay their tuition and other fees rather than traditional bank.
Methodology
For my primary research, I designed a questionnaire with different types of questions to get the
information about the mobile banking which helped me to answer of my research questions. I
adopted a quantitative method. For collecting my data, I used to google survey for my primary
research. My target groups were the students of NSU. In survey 40 students of giving their
opinion. Most of them were above the 8th semester and more and aged between 18 to 26. This
For my secondary research, I used internet sources, different types of articles, newspaper, book
about the mobile banking. These helped me to find out my query regarding secondary research.

So, one of my survey questions to my respondents was “What kind of bank account do you
have?” The option were savings, current, FDR, and no account. From the illustrated graph, we
can see the option “saving” account which has got the highest response from my respondents,
which is 42%. 35% have the “current” account, 20% have “FDR” and Only 3% of my
respondents have “no account”, so 3% is very less among these percentages. So, this is clear
according to my respondents that most of them have “saving” account. As most of them had

From the illustrated graph it shows, my question was “Do you have a mobile bank account?”.
In the X-axis of the graph represent the option of my question and the Y-axis of the graph
represent the percentage of the respondent’s opinion. 75% respondents had said they have a
mobile bank account. Only 25% respondents had said they don’t have any mobile bank
account. It is quite obvious that Most of the NSU students have a mobile bank account. Alo

From the above graph we can see, my survey question was “Where do you typically withdraw
money?”. In the X-axis of the graph represent the option of my question and in the Y-axis of
the graph represent the percentage of the respondent answer. The option were agent mobile
banking, the point of sale, automatic teller machine, and at the bank teller. 70% of my
respondent said that they mostly use an automatic teller machine. 45% use agent mobile
banking. 20% at the bank teller. Only 2% use point of sale. I think automatic teller machine
got the highest response from my respondents 70% is because it is universally accepted, save
your account from being dormant and helpful Budgeting Tool ("Advantages and Benefits of
using Bank ATM Cards," 2018). 45% in use agent mobile banking because it gives us easy
access, higher security ("The Advantages of Mobile Banking", 2017). So, we can say that both
use agent mobile banking and automatic teller machine convenience for my respondent.

Another survey question was “Do you think that human contact is important for banking
relation?”. Options were completely, somewhat, unsure, not at all. From the above graph we
can see, the option “Somewhat” has got the highest response 48% of my respondents.
“Completely” has got a response of 43%. “Not at all” has got a response of 7% and “Unsure”
has got a response of only 2%. we know that bank is a stuffy industry. so human contact is
important for banking relation. The branch manager plays an important role in bank
relationship and the role of a branch manager is like a coaching of the branch's staff. ("5 Ways
Banks Can Provide the Human Touch for Customers," 2012). So, it is clear, according to most
of my respondents, they want moderate amount human contact and it can possible by the
mobile banking.

My next question was “What are the problem you face to give the tuition and other fees through
the bank?”. The option of this question were time-consuming, quality of services, risky to carry
the cash, and above all. In the X-axis of the graph represent the option of my question and in
the Y-axis of the graph represent the percentage of the respondent answer. 50% of respondent
said, “time-consuming”, which is the highest percentage. Then 17.5% respondent said that it is
“risky to carry the cash”. 15% respondent think that it is “quality of service” and 17.5%
respondent think it is all the option. So, the answer to this question is clear, according to my
respondents, that they think time-consuming is one of the biggest problems they face when
they give the tuition and other fees through the traditional bank. and Muniz (2018) found that

"Uses of Mobile Banking in NSU", it is understandable to me that students of NSU want to use
mobile banking for giving tuition and other fees. They want to use the mobile banking system,
From my research finding, I got to know, students of NSU face different types of problem to
pay their tuition and other fees through the bank such as they think it is risky to carry the cash,
it takes at least two hours to pay their fees and bank service is not satisfactory for them. I also
find out that human contact is not very important for bank relation and almost all of my
My respondents had given more preference to use mobile banking for giving tuition and other
fees. According to them mobile banking service is very user-friendly and time-saving.
Recommendation
As the result of the survey of my research which showed NSU student want to use mobile
banking for giving tuition. I also believe that students of NSU prefer mobile banking rather
than traditional banking. Through using the mobile banking students can save their valuable
time and it is very easy to use and also it gives them security. So, I think NSU should adopt a
system that students of NSU can give tuition and other fees through the mobile bank.
Uses of Mobile Banking in NSU. 27
Conclusion
In conclusion, we can find that most of the NSU students prefer using mobile banking to give
their tuition and other fees rather than a traditional bank. it gives students different types of
advantage. To giving fees through the bank students waste their time waiting for the line. It is
also risky to carry the cash. The mobile bank can terminate those problems. With the mobile
bank system, students of NSU can give their tuition and other fees easily and quickly without
any kind of problem. Although the mobile bank has some negative effects with the proper
supervision and control by the authority of NSU the negative effects can be eliminated.
