Bayang magiliw, Ang kislap ng watawat mo’y

Perlas ng silanganan, Tagumpay na nagniningning;

Alab ng puso
Sa dibdib mo’y buhay.
-This verse says that love in the Philippines
is warm in the heart of the Filipinos
Ang bituin at araw niya,
Kailan pa ma’y di magdidilim.
-The verse says that the brightness of our
flag is the glitter of our victory that the stars
and the sun will forever shine.

Lupang hinirang,
Duyan ka ng magiting,
Sa manlulupig Lupa ng araw, ng luwalhati’t pagsinta,

Di ka pasisiil. Buhay ay langit sa piling mo;

-It says that our chosen country has many
heroes, that we will not surrender to
invaders
Sa dagat at bundok,
Aming ligaya na ‘pag may mang-aapi,
Ang mamatay nang dahil sa iyo.
-The verse says that we are like the
Philippines. That we are ready to die for our
country

Sa simoy at sa langit mong bughaw,

May dilag ang tula
At awit sa paglayang minamahal.
-It says that we are proud of the mountains,
the sea and even the breeze and harmony
of our heaven that we sing in the joy of
being free
