Dear City Mill,

I hope that you are doing great. My name is Alexander Matsubara, and I am a junior from
Maryknoll High School. I am writing to ask for your assistance in our English project, which is
to build tables that can be used for the homeless. We currently are looking for spare wooden
pallets, paint, and tools that may be used to help assemble the tables. These tables will then be
donated to homeless shelters such as HIS.

The plan for this project is to go out and spread awareness in our community. We want to express
this by helping the many homeless that live in Hawaii. Which is why we thought crafting small
tables for the homeless will help them a lot. Such as a place to eat, do work, and socialize with
one another. Doing a simple action like this can bring both joy and happiness to the people. In
the future, we hope that this can open up a new path to change homelessness. Which will both
decrease the number of homeless people on the streets and facilities in Oahu.

We are planning to begin constructing and painting around the time of March. We are willing to
take any donations of wooden pallets, paints, and tools or assistance you may provide us with. If
you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at either (808) 479-
8163 or by email at alexandermatsubara@gmail.com. Thank you for reading through this and we
hope to make a change.

Sincerely,

Alexander Matsubara
