Take note of the following amendments and be familiar with the new

rules.

 Rule 7 of 2019 Proposed Amendments to the 1997 Rules of Civil

Procedure brought some changes to the Parts of a Pleading.

 Under the said Rule, in the Verification, the Affiant should be duly
authorized to sign.

 The authorization to act on behalf of the party whether in the

form of a Secretary’s Certificate or a Special Power of Attorney
should now be attached to the pleading.

 There is now a new part which is the Contents, in the said part
you need to state or include the facts or data of the following;

 Names of your witnesses;

 Summary of the witnesses’ intended testimonies together
with their Judicial Affidavit; and
 Documentary and Object evidence in support of the
allegation.
