In Myanmar, we have four types of basic transportation likely, Airplanes, Boats , Cars
and Trains. Yangon,one of the biggest city in Myanmar, Cars and buses are used as main
transportation. So the citizens has
always been faced to the
problem,TRAFFIC. Being stuck in a
traffic in every citizens’ daily lives
had effected to them seriously. I
would like to present about the
Myanmar Railway Transportation
which is really convenience other
than transportation.
The track of railway at Yangon station
Myanmar Railway has divided into
three networks , upper route Myanmar, lower route Myanmar and city circular route. The
photo mentioned above is the track of railway station at Yangon Station .It is located in
downtown Yangon , near the AungSan Stadium. You can travel not only around Myanmar
but also around town (circular train) from that station. The fees for circular train are
about 100kyats for both citizens and foreigners. If you travel from Yangon to other town
the average fees is range from 7000-12000. The service are from 3:45am to 10:15pm.
The average daily loops for circular train is about 25 loops. A loop takes two hours from
and back to the Yangon Station.
Our country hasn’t develop
yet, so the railway stations are
different from other countries’. We
don’t have Yellow Line that means
“DO NOT CROSS OVER THIS LINE”.
It should have more security for the
passengers. This means it need to
install CCTVs to protect passengers.

There are many vendors at


the station. I think the government
need to do something for them . They ran to the train to sell their products when the
train arrived to the station. This type of selling their products is so dangerous for the
because you can’t tell when the accident will happen. If the government stall for the
shops for them, they don’t need to
run here to there and it can also be
safe for them.

There are two types of seat


in the train, the normal class and the
upper class. The normal class is that
it has normal seats where you have
to sit with other passengers while
the upper class has more

comfortable seat. The fees are differ
for both seat. If you have to travel to farther place, you should choose upper class to feel
comfortable.

In the weekends, the station is filled with many foreigners and families who spend
their time by taking circular train to observe around the city. Now they make new routes
to the other places in the city.
People should choose the railway transportation other than because this
transportation has no traffic. With this benefit, the railway can win the bus transportation.
And the trains are more be exact
than bus. So we can be on time for
our work without having any traffics.

Currently, the circular train loop


begins from Yangon Station to
Mingalardon Station near Yangon
International Airport. The major
stations are Yangon Station, Dagon
University, Insein, Mingalardon,

Danyingon , Oakphosu, Hlawga,
Thilawa , Toe Gyang Galay and Ywar Thar Gyi stations. They are attempted to make
more major stations that can be
convience for citizens.

We should maintain our


historical train station that had
been built during colonal times .
The building is too old and you can
see how colonal building looks like.

I think we need to develop more


services like having an air-
condition service train, and also Local passengers with their packages
required many security services.
