The world and this generation needs more kindness. Kindness is something that is
extremely important to me and something that people don’t initially think I can give out. Before
people get to know me, they just tend to automatically assume I am a stuck up, rude, and moody
person. Bringing a smile to someone’s face because of something I can say or do, is the highlight
of my day, any day. Being kind is such a simple phrase people say, but it is an ideal that goes
Growing up, I was always being told how important it is to be polite, how to use proper
manners, and how if one has nothing nice to say; then to say nothing at all. When people think
about being kind, they think of being nice. However, it can go further than that; when I think of
being kind I think about the little things: complimenting someone, holding the door for someone,
checking up on someone you may not even necessarily talk to just to make sure they are okay, or
giving out to those who may not have as much as I do. No two people are the same. Everyone is
different in their own way, but that does not mean they have to be treated differently solely
While being kind is something I love giving out, it is also could be better for everyone’s
mental state. Why would one want to be rude and bring others down? I could not explain that.
Making comments about someone’s weight, how they dress, what they look like, talking down
on the way they think, are all examples of artifacts I strongly disagree in. Throughout middle

school, I didn’t honestly get along with a countless number of people. I was broken down into
my worst form. That was when I truly realized how much damage it can take on me when some
just tries to tear me down. It has shaped me into the person I am today, and I would not change
There are multiple side effects to being kind. It makes a significant difference in
relationships, it can emotionally and physically make me and others feel better, and positively
radiate someone's mood. Therefore, I believe and will continue to believe and try to make an
impact on others on why kindness is so important and how such a small implement I can do can
make a difference.
