Call them up as needed to form words. Line up the first word. Have children rollercoaster the two sounds before the vowel (onset), then the last two sounds (rime). Children decide which Letterlanders are needed, who needs to sit down, and who needs to replace them. Children then arm blend the word to check their spelling. You may want to have a Blends Race. Write "Blends" on the board, and underneath a quick picture-coding of I, r, and s. Each time a word is made, children decide which type of blend, and you make a tally mark for that one under the letter. The winner of the race is the one with the most marks at the end.
