1. ELIGIBILITY:
All ‘Direct & Project’ film makers must have been invited to enter and in turn
must have been confirmed as participants by WOMWorld/Nokia. This
confirmation will have been sent from the email address:
chris@womworld.com. Nokia reserves the right, at any time, to verify eligibility
requirements, in any manner it deems appropriate.
2. FILMS/SUBMISSIONS:
Films should not be any more than 60 seconds in length. Submissions that
exceed 60 seconds may not be considered to win the competition.
Films must be submitted by Thursday January 13th 2011 by 11pm PST
There is a limit of one entry per person
Film makers are allowed and able by contest rule to collaborate with other
individuals in the creation of their submissions. There is no limit to how big
their teams can be.
All submissions must be filmed entirely and solely on the loaned Nokia N8
device.
Contestants may use any editing software they wish and are free to use post
production effects as they wish.
Format: The films will be screened through a Nokia N8 device at the event, so
films must be viewable from the N8 device. Therefore films must be submitted
in an appropriate format.
Files can be submitted in any way the entrant wishes. Recommended
platform is www.yousendit.com. The email address to submit videos to via
this platform is trial@womworld.com
Nokia will not claim any ownership rights to the films. All ownership of films
must be agreed by those involved in their production.
However Nokia reserves the right to screen any of the Direct and Project
entries on any of its owned websites without paying any financial charge, or
any cost of any other kind, or committing to any other obligations.
Contestants may use films made for the Contest as they wish, but films can
only be published or uploaded for public consumption after the film has been
screened at the screening event on January 19th.
Nokia reserves the right to decline to screen any inappropriate films at the
screening event on January 19th. Entries that are incomplete, late, delayed,
misdirected, altered, irregular, or do not conform to or satisfy any conditions
of these official Contest rules and regulations shall be disqualified.
Audio: Contestants must adhere to existing Canadian copyright rules for any
audio (inc. music and sound effects) on their films. Any films that break
copyright regulations may not be screened at the screening event on January
19th and may not be uploaded to official Nokia channels
All personal information obtained for this Contest will be used only for the
purposes of conducting the contest.
4. DEVICE SENDING AND COLLECTION
5. PRIZES:
The main prize for the winner of Direct and Project as chosen by the
competition’s judging panel consists of:
o A brand new 46” Panasonic TCP46S2 TV
o Free cinema entry for a year to an appropriate cinema for the winner.
Nokia reserves the right to choose this cinema.
o Permission to keep the ‘loan’ Nokia N8 device
Two other runners up will also be granted permission to keep their Nokia N8
device as a prize
Only one prize can be awarded per team. This will be given to the individual
who filled in the trial agreement form for the device that the winning film was
made on. Ownership of the prize will at this individual’s discretion. It is this
individual’s responsibility to communicate prize ownership to their team.
6. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION:
By entering this contest, entrants accept and agree (a) to abide by the official
contest rules and regulations and the decisions of the independent contest
judging organization with respect to all aspects of the contest, which are final,
binding and conclusive on all matters relative to this contest; and (b) that the
Releasees will have no liability whatsoever for, are released and shall be held
harmless by participants against any liability for any injuries, losses or
damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting in
whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or
use of any prize or participation in this promotion or in promotion-related
activities.
