MADE IN MY IMAGE: TERMS & CONDITIONS

1. ENTRY:
a. Participants of ‘Made in My Image’ on-air competition will be required to
submit a maximum of 3 pictures per week.
b. All submitted pictures must be in the required quality of 1920 x 1080. All
pictures must be shot in landscape mode. Failure to comply with these
requirements will result in disqualification.
c. Participants will be required to go to the SABC 1 Website where they will be
redirected to the Made In My Image portal to sign up to submit their entry.
d. Participants are required to read and accept the terms & conditions of entry
which will be available on the portal as well as SABC 1 Social Media pages.
e. Images/photos/pictures promoting brands and images containing explicit
nudity or vulgarity, violating public policy or accepted principles of morality
will be automatically excluded from the competition.
2. The Made In My Image competition will start on the 14th of December 2020 and
end on the 31st of December 2021.
3. There will be no financial compensation for any of the pictures that the channel
will be utilising on air and on social media platforms.

4. ELIGIBILITY:
The competition is open only to legal South African residents, over the age of 18
– 65, Males and Females. Employees of the SABC (along with its contractors,
affiliates and subsidiaries) and their families are not eligible

5. SELECTION:
a. A panel of judges comprising of SABC 1 ON AIR and Marketing Personnel will
select a number of winning pictures per month based on the quality and the
interest factor of pictures. The decision of the panel of SABC judges is final on
all the selected images/photos/pictures, as verified by Auditors.
b. Pictures that are selected/approved will only be used on television and on
social media platforms.
6. USE OF IMAGES:
Pictures that have been selected and approved will be used for approximately
one year only.

7. GENERAL CONDITIONS:
a. Participants hereby grant SABC 1 a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license
to broadcast, publish, store, reproduce, distribute, syndicate, and otherwise
use and exhibit the submission of entry (along with their names, voices,
performance and/or likenesses) in all media now known, or that later come
into being, for purposes of trade or advertising without further compensation.
Participants represent and warrant that they have full legal right, power and
authority to grant SABC 1 the foregoing if applicable, have secured all
necessary rights from any participants in, and contributors to, their Submission
in order to grant such a license.
b. SABC 1 is under no obligation to use any submission or return the submissions
to participants.

8. USE OF CONTEST INFORMATION:

All entries become the property of SABC 1. SABC 1 reserves the right to use any
and all information related to the contest, including submissions provided by the
contestants, for editorial, marketing and any other purpose, unless prohibited by
law.

9. NOT ENDORSED BY FACEBOOK, TWITTER, AND INSTAGRAM: By participating in

this contest, you acknowledge that this contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed
or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and
release Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from any and all liability arising from, or
related to, this contest. The information you are providing for this contest is being
provided to SABC 1 and not to Facebook.

10.CONDUCT:
All participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. SABC 1 in its sole
discretion reserves the right to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with
 the entry process, the operation of its web site or is otherwise in violation of
these rules.

11.LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY:
a. SABC 1 is not responsible for late, lost or misdirected email or for any
computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. If for
any reason, the contest is not capable of running as planned, including
infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or
technical failures of any sort, SABC 1 may cancel, terminate, modify or
suspend the contest. Entrants further agree to release SABC 1 from any
liability resulting from, or related to participation in the contest.
b. Contestants enter the competition at their wont risk. The SABC will not be
liable for any injuries that occur during the period of the competition.
c. Judges & Auditors decision is final on all the selected pictures
d. By submitting the images/ photos/pictures Entrants agree to be bound by
these Terms and Conditions. SABC 1/SABC in its sole discretion reserves the
right to disqualify any person it finds to be tampering with the entry process,
the operation of its web site or is otherwise in violation of these rules.
e. By submitting the images/photos/images Entrants acknowledge that they
have completely read and fully understand the above terms and conditions
and agree to be bound thereby as published by the SABC on

www.twitter.com/Official_SABC1 as well as on www.sabc1.co.za

12.PERMISSIONS:
a. The images/photos/pictures remain the property of the Entrants. The
Entrants must be owners of all copyright of the sent images/photos/pictures.
b. By entering this competition the Entrants grant to the SABC permission to the
rights of their images/photos/pictures or likeness for the duration of the
competition and to use their images/photos/pictures as outlined under use
of images above.
c. By entering this competition Entrants grants the SABC the permission to edit,
copy, broadcast, exhibit, publish or distribute their images/photos/pictures
and thus waive their right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein
their image/photo/picture and/or likeness appears.
d. By entering this competition Entrants waive any rights to royalties or other
compensation arising or related to the use of their image/photos/pictures
and/or likeness for this competition or in relation to this competition. The
Entrants agree that the SABC/SABC 1 reserves the right to use any and all
images/photos/images submitted in relation to the competition, including for
editorial, publication, websites, social media, any promotional material,
marketing, events and print and any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.
e. By entering this competition Entrants hereby grant SABC 1/SABC a non-
exclusive, perpetual, worldwide license to broadcast, publish, store,
reproduce, distribute, syndicate, and otherwise use and exhibit the
images/photos/pictures of entry (along with their names, voices,
performance and/or likenesses where relevant) in all media now known, or
that later come into being, for purposes of this competition.
f. By entering this competition Entrants represent and warrant that they have
full legal right, power and authority to grant SABC 1 /SABC the foregoing
license and if applicable, have secured all necessary rights from any
participants in, and contributors to, their images/photos/pictures in order to
grant such a license.
g. By entering this competition Entrants agree that SABC 1/SABC is under no
obligation to use any image/photo/picture submitted or return the submitted
images/photos/pictures to participants.
h. Any person who submit a picture of a minor or anyone who looks to be below
an age of consent declares that they have received permission from the
parents or guardians and that they will take responsibility for any disputes,
damages or lawsuits that may arise as a result of that picture being used by
SABC 1.
i. SABC 1 will not entertain or seek to resolve any dispute arising from parents
or guardians over a picture a minor’s picture broadcast on SABC 1.
