THE MODEL 2l0A SQUARE WAVE GE}TERATaR

Tech nical Infor mati on

The mode l 210 squa re wave gene rator is a ne~ instr umen t
whic h is extre mely usef ul in both prod uctio n testi ng and
deve lopm ent work . It prov ides a new appro ach to the
probl em of meas uring the char acte risti cs of audio time frequ en-

the most two obse rvati ons with 8 squa re wave .

A squa re wave may also be used to study phas e shifat squa re
in an amp lifie r. An amp lifie r will not repro duce e shif t

respo nse is known to be good , phas e shif t effe cts can be
deter mine d by a squa re wave obse rvati on.

SPECIFICATIONS

FREQUENCY RANGE: The output of the generator is square ~ith

in 1% over the frequency range from 20
cycles to 10,000 cycles. The time for the
voltage to rise to 90% of maximum is approx-
mately 1 microsecond, thus a reasonably
square wave can be obtained even at 100 kilo-
cycles.
OUTPUT VOLTAGE: The output voltage is 50 volts peak to peak
open circuit. The output impedance is 1000
ohms balnnced to ground.
OUTPUT ATTENUATOR: A 75 db. attenuator is provided in the out-
put with 5 db~ steps~ The frequency response
of the attenuator is sufficiently wide so
that the output wave shape is not affected
even at the highest frequencies.
INPUT VOLTAGE: The gonerator may be driven from any con-
venient source of alternating voltage or it
may be int0rnally synchronized to tho power
line frequoncy. A driving voltage of two
volts is required ond the input impedance is
25,000 ohms.
MOillJTING: The Model 2l0A is mounted in an attractive
steol cabinet 15" long, 8" high, and 9" deep
finished in wrinkle grey. The panel is grey
baked enamel with machine engraved designa-
tions. The model 2l0AR is m0untcd in a re-
lny reck Dssembly with 2. 19" by 7" panel and
is 8" deop. The dust cover is removable from
tho rear and the binding posts may be sUP9lied
either on the panel or at the rear of the
asser.1bly.
POVVER SUPPLY: The generator is provided with a built-in
power supply to operate from 110 volts 50 or
60 cycles. It requires approximately 50
watts.
