‫مقدمة وخاتمة عن الشيخ زايد واالمارات‬

The UAE has distinctive heritage that is rooted in Islamic teachings and Arabian culture. Emirati people
are still adherent to their traditions, but they work hard to achieve progress for their country. Luckily, the
UAE has changed from a desert country to a modern country thanks to the efforts of his highness the late
Sheikh Zayed.
Modern life and past life ‫الحياة الحديثة والحياة في الماضي في اإلمارات‬

Life in the world especially in UAE has changed a lot in many fields. Today, people live a better life than
life in the past. However, there are some similarities and differences between modern life and past life in the
.UAE

.In this essay, I will highlight the similarities and differences between modern life and past life in the UAE

To begin with similarities, the most important one is food. In the past, Emirati people ate simple foods like
dates, yogurt, camels’ milk, bread, harees and Majboos. They ate with their hands and they used to eat in
groups. Similarly, today Emirati people still love eating traditional foods and they eat with their hands.
However, when they have occasions, they may order fast foods from famous restaurants. Another similarity is
keeping customs and traditions. Traditions have not changed in the UAE. Emirati people are famous for their
generosity and welcoming strange people. They like helping the poor and the needy people. Also, they love
.falconry and camel racing

On the other hand, there are some differences between modern life and past life in the UAE. The first
difference is transport. In the past, transport was very difficult. There were no airports or highways. People
traveled by camels, horses and boats. Differently, transport today is very easy. There are many modern airports
and highways. People travel by cars, buses, trains and planes. Another difference is technology. In the past,
there were no any inventions or technology. Emirati people used to do things with their hands. For example,
they used to wash with their hands, communicate with letters and sew their clothes with their hands. Differently,
today there are many inventions and means of technology that have made life easier and more comfortable. For
.example, Emirati people can communicate with mobile phones

To sum up, modern life and past life share some similarities and some differences. However, I think that
.modern life is much better than past life because it is easier and more comfortable

Traditions of the UAE (Henna Decoration) )‫التقاليد في اإلمارات ( التزيين بالحنا‬

The UAE has a distinctive Arabic and Islamic culture that includes many fascinating customs and
traditions. One of these wonderful Emirati traditions is Henna decoration.
Henna decoration is the art of painting body parts with colorful tattoos in different shapes and patterns.
There are many colors for Henna such as yellow, red, black and brown. Emirati women use Henna to decorate
their body parts such as hair, hands, arms, legs, and feet.
Henna has many health benefits. For example, Henna can give the hair rich color and keep it from damage
and reduce hair loss. Also, it is used to cure some diseases such as reducing fevers, curing headaches, and
reducing sleep issues.
In the UAE, Henna is worn by Emirati women and girls in happy occasions such as Eid, wedding parties
and graduation parties. Before wedding, there is “Night of Henna” party, where Emirati brides, along with their
female friends and family, would gather to be decorated in henna patterns.
To sum up, Henna decoration is a very important Emirati tradition that has been used by Emirati people in
different happy occasions because it gives a beautiful appearance and it has many health benefits. Therefore,
young Emirati people should keep this tradition.

Changes in the Arab culture (Emirati Culture) )‫التغيرات في الثقافة العربية (الثقافة اإلماراتية‬
Arab culture is very special and different from western culture. Arab culture is based on Islamic
teachings and the sayings of prophet Mohamed. It’s famous for its tolerance and generosity. However, some
.aspects of Arab culture have changed because of modern technology and improved economy
One of the cultural aspects that have changed are the work of women. In fact, the role of women in
the past was limited to caring for their families. They weren’t allowed to work outside. They only had to do
house tasks and bring up their children. However, with modern progress, most Arab women have jobs in many
.fields nowadays and they earn salaries like men and this led to an increase in the divorce rate
Another cultural aspect that changed is social relationship. In the past, people had face-to-face
relationships. People used to visit each other and spend funny time together discussing some matters. In
contrast, with the advance of modern technology, people use social media like WhatsApp to chat with each
.other instead of face-to-face relationships
The third changed cultural aspect is eating styles. In the past, family members used to gather and eat
healthy traditional food together. However, today because most family members are busy in their work, they no
.longer eat together, and they have replaced the healthy traditional food with the unhealthy fast food
To sum up, although some aspects of Arab culture have changed such as the work of women, face-to-
face relationships and eating styles, most Arab people especially in the UAE still known for their generosity and
.welcoming their guests

Emirati Culture ‫الثقافة االماراتية‬

The UAE has great heritage and culture which are based on Arabic values and Islamic teachings. Emirati
people still respect their traditions and follow them in their life.
One of the most famous traditions of Emirati people is their generosity. In fact, Emirati people are well-
known as being generous and tolerant. They welcome all people from different nationalities and races. They
meet strange people in their houses and serve them food and drinks. Before drinking coffee, they provide their
guests with dates. Also, Emirati people help the poor and the needy people all over the world. In fact, the
Emirati red crescent has stood beside poor countries such as Yemen.
Another aspect of Emirati culture is respecting women. In fact, women have played a very important role in the
Emirati community. For example, her highness Sheikha Fatima has supported Sheikh Zayed in developing the
UAE. Also, she has supported Emirati women to have high positions in the UAE. There are many successful
women in the UAE such as Mariam AlMansoori and Sheikha Lubna AlQasimi.
The third aspect of Emirati culture is singing and dancing. The UAE enjoys a strong tradition of music and
dance which played a vital role in many aspects of its people's lives. Songs were composed to accompany
different tasks, from hauling water at the well, to diving for pearl oysters in the Gulf. In fact, music and singing
became an inspiration for good teamwork. In addition to singing, Emirati people still love some traditional
dances such as Ayyalah and Yowalah.
To sum up, despite living in welfare and modern life, Emirati people still love their unique culture and
heritage. They still remember the saying of Sheikh Zayed, '' A nation without a past is a nation without a present
and a nation without a future. ''
Traditional dishes in the UAE‫األطباق التقليدية في اإلمارات‬
Emirati people love eating traditional foods because they are very healthy. There are many types of
traditional foods in the UAE.
The first traditional food is Al Machboos. There are many types such as meat Machboos, chicken
Machboos or fish Machboos. The main ingredients of this food are rice, onions and meat and salt. Also, some
spices and a dried lemon called Loomy are added to it to give it a special flavor. The second traditional food is
Al Harees. The main elements of this food are small pieces of meat, wheat, some salt and water. The third
traditional food is Saloona. This dish consists of a mixture of vegetables, onions, meat, chicken or fish and is
served most often with boiled white rice.
Bread in the Emirati meal includes Al Balaleet and Fareed. Al Balaleet is a kind of fine pasta made from
eggs, onions, saffron, sugar and oil. Fareed is made using Ruqaq, crispy flat bread, covered in a vegetable and
meat soup.
Desserts in the Emirati meal include Luqaimat which are fried pastry balls of pancake that is rolled in
sesame seeds. As for drinks, Emirati people serve coffee or red tea filled with mint at the end of each meal.
Also, they may put cardamom or saffron on the coffee to give it a special flavor.
To sum up, traditional foods such as Al Machboos, Al Harees, Al Balaleet and Luqaimat are very
healthy. Therefore, young Emirati people should eat these foods instead of fast foods to keep their health.
Majlis
The Majlis has been linked to Emirati culture and heritage. It has been the most necessary section in
Emirati houses because it has many functions. The purpose of this essay is to describe the main functions of the
Majlis in the UAE.
To begin with, Majlis has been used as a place for meeting guests and foreign people. Therefore, in
Emirati Majlis, there are all items of Emirati hospitality such as water bottles, flasks of tea and coffee and dates.
These items are presented to guests.
The second function of Majlis is solving problems. In the past, there were no courts so Emirati people
used to solve their issues and conflicts in the Majlis of an elder person or the Sheikh of the tribe who listen to
the problem and the views of both sides and discuss them with the other people in Majlis in order to offer the
solution.
The final function of Majlis is that it has been used as place to celebrate important occasions. For example, it
is used in other occasions such as graduation parties, birthday parties, Ramadan gatherings and Eid.
To sum up, Majlis has been used as a place for meeting guests, solving problems and celebrating
important occasions. As a result, I advise all Emirati people to keep their heritage.

Modern Houses and Traditional Houses ‫المنازل الحديثة والمنازل التقليدية‬

It is a fact that housing has developed a lot in the UAE especially after the Emirati federation and the discovery of
oil. Nowadays, most Emirati people live in modern houses and villas. In contrast, people in the past lived in simple
houses like Arish houses. This essay will compare between modern houses and traditional houses.

To begin with, modern houses depend on inventions and modern technology. For example, people today can use
ACs to have cool air. In contrast, traditional houses depended on eco- friendly tools, so they are much healthier than
modern houses. For example, traditional houses had a wind tower or barjeel installed to keep the rooms cool.

In addition, modern houses are built with many different building materials that are produced largely in factories
such as wood, concrete, glass, cement, steel, ceramics, and marble. Also, modern houses have many designs. In
contrast, most traditional houses use simple natural materials like mud, palm fronds and wool. An example of this is
Arish houses that were built by palm fronds and tree trunks.

Moreover, modern houses are permanent. Today, people settle in one place for a long time, so their houses last for
a long time, but in the past, people used to move everywhere looking for water and grass, so their houses were
temporary. In the past, people used to live in tents or Areesh houses.

To conclude, despite the differences between modern houses and traditional houses, both types of houses still
have yards and separate Majlis for receiving guests. Therefore, in building their new houses, Emirati people should think
about their culture and heritage.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi is the largest mosque in the UAE and the eighth largest
mosque in the world. It is large enough for over 40,000 worshipers.

The construction of the mosque started on 5 November 1996, but the mosque was finally completed on
December 2007. Its area is 22,412 square meters. It has 4 minarets of 107 meters high.

The design of the mosque can be best described as a mixture of Arab, Mughal and Moorish architecture. Its
minarets are classically Arab. Natural materials were chosen for its design and construction, including marble
stone, gold, crystals and ceramics. The 96 columns in the main prayer hall are dressed in marble.

Its walls were built completely of marble. The color white is one of the most amazing qualities of the mosque;
chosen by the late Sheikh Zayed as an example of purity. The marble walls are built with colorful stones in the
shape of flowers all over the mosque.
The mosque has 82 domes, over 1,000 columns, and the world's largest hand manmade Iranian carpet. The
weight of this carpet is 35 ton and is mainly made from wool.

Reflective pools surround the mosque, increasing its beauty. The wonderful white and gold colors shining in
the sun are changed at night by a unique lightning system which reflects the phases of the moon.

To conclude, Sheikh Zayed is a fantastic architecture and Islamic symbol in the UAE. This mosque makes
Emirati people remember the late Sheikh Zayed who is buried at the site of the mosque.

Sheikh Khalifa Mosque

Sheikh Khalifa Mosque or Alain Grand Mosque will be the largest mosque in Alain city. It is named
after Sheikh Khalifa-the president of the UAE- and it is constructed near the ruins of an ancient mosque that
was discovered in Alain.
The mosque will be in the heart of Al Ain City close to the UAE University Campus. Its construction began
in 2013 under the supervision of the Department of President’s Affairs and Eversendai Engineering LLC. The
mosque was planned to be opened in 2016 but it will nearly be opened this year or the next year. Its
construction costs AED 600 million and it will be big enough for over 20,000 worshippers.
The mosque has only underground floor and first floor so that old people to easily walk to the Prayer Halls
without climbing any stairs or taking any lifts. Also, the mosque will have shaded walkways, seating, scented
planting, and decorative patterns. Its gardens will have a selection of plants, which are mentioned in different
verses of the Quran. Besides, it will have landscaped areas, walkways and parking areas.

The total area of the mosque is 256,680 m2. It will include a 160-meter wide dome that will cover the main
prayer hall and four 60-meter tall minarets. The dome is adorned with verses from the Quran. The prayer halls
will be simple to ensure that worshippers will not be distracted by decorations or paintings.

To sum up, sheikh Khalifa mosque will be one of the most tourist attractions in Alain. I advise all tourists
especially from Islamic countries to visit this mosque.
Transport in the UAE ‫المواصالت في االمارات‬
Since the union and oil discovery, the UAE has developed a lot and many things have changed to the
better. One of the main changes that happened to the UAE is transport especially highways, airports, and
seaports. Modern means of transport help Emirati businesspeople to travel easily to other countries. Besides,
they help tourists and foreign businesspeople to visit the UAE. In this essay, I will highlight the differences
between transport in the past and modern transport.
In the past, transport was very difficult. There were no paved roads. Emirati people used to travel across the
desert by camels or horses. They suffered from the extreme hot weather of the desert and it took them long
.time to reach their places. Also, they traveled by sea using their ships and boats
In contrast, today transport is completely different from transport in the past. Today, transport is very
developed because there are many ways of transport in the UAE like planes, trains, buses, cars, and metros.
Also, there are many paved roads and highways in the UAE. In addition, there are many bridges and squares
in the UAE. Besides, the Emirati government has built some airports and harbors. As a result, today Emirati
.people now can reach their places easily and comfortably
To sum up, the transportation system has developed a lot in the UAE since union and oil discovery.
Nowadays, Emirati people can reach their places easily and in a short time. However, they still love their
traditions. They remember the saying of Sheikh Zayed,'' A nation without a past is a nation without a present or
''.a future

Industries in the UAE ?‫الصناعات‬

Why do people comeintothe
Tourism UAE‫السياحة‬
theUAE

The UAE is a very beautiful country that attracts visitors from all over the world and makes its people
live in welfare. In fact, Emirati people and visitors like living in the UAE for its tourist places and modern
services. Tourism is a major industry in the UAE that brings money and provides jobs for Emirati people. There
are many reasons that have made the UAE a tourist.

The first reason is that UAE has many tourist places. For example, tourists can enjoy high mountains such as
Hafeet mountain, golden sand dunes and amazing buildings like Khalifa Tower and Louvre Abu Dhabi.

The second reason is that the UAE has many modern services. For example, it has modern roads, modern
highways, international airports like Dubai Airport and modern means of transport like buses and metros.

The final reason is that UAE has many festivals. For example, tourists can visit Dubai shopping festival, Al
wathba camel race festival, National Day festival and Gitex festival.

To sum up, the U.A.E is a tourist country because it has many wonderful tourist places, modern services and
festivals. Therefore, I advise tourists to visit UAE to enjoy it.

Festivals in the UAE (National Day) )‫مهرجانات في اإلمارات (عيد اإلتحاد‬

The UAE has many festivals, but the most important festival is The National Day which is a happy day for
all Emirati people. It is a symbol of unity and cohesion.
Emirati people celebrate National Day on 2 December each year. They decorate their cars and villas with
Emirati flags. They also do a "Maseera" on streets and do traditional dances, play national music, and carry
Emirati flags. Students at school wear traditional clothes and perform "youlah" and traditional dances.
The union has changed Emirati life to the better. Before the union, Emirati people lived a hard life. For
example, they lived in tents and simple houses. They treated their illnesses with herbs. They worked in simple
jobs like fishing, pearl diving, farming, and keeping animals. Moreover, they did not have modern schools,
colleges, or universities.
In contrast, after the union, Emirati people have lived in welfare. For example, they live in villas and
modern houses. They have modern hospitals. They work in well-paid jobs like businessmen, managers,
engineers, or lawyers. Moreover, they have modern schools, colleges, and universities.
To sum up, because of National day, the U.A.E. has become modern and developed. Therefore, all young
Emirati people should work hard to develop their country. They should remember the saying of Sheikh Zayed, ''
A nation without a past is a nation without a present and a nation without a future. ''
How to be safe on the internet / on social media?‫كيف تكون أمن على النت أو وسائل التواصل االجتماعي‬
Recently, the Internet and social media have invaded our life. Most people all over the world spend a lot of
time on them, but they be in danger of hackers and cybercrimes. Therefore, it is important to learn how to be
safe on the Internet.
The first way is not to share your personal information on the internet. For example, people shouldn’t
post their private photos or videos on the internet. Also, people should not share their bank accounts on the
internet because hackers may know their accounts and steal their money.
The second way is not to accept strange people. You should not trust all people on social media. Some
people may send you a message and asks you to chat with them via your email. When you click the link of their
emails, your account may be hacked.
The final way is not to trust any thing that is published on social media. For example, some people may post
false photos or videos in order to spread rumors and cause disorder in the community. Therefore, don’t let
yourself a victim to bad people who want to destroy your country.
To sum up, we can protect ourselves on social media by not publishing our private information and not trusting
any people or thing that is posted on social media. I advise all people to use the Internet and social media
wisely.

Texting ‫الرسائل النصية‬

Nowadays, with the development of modern technology and means of communication from mobile phones
to the Internet, people can communicate in many ways such as making calls or sending a text message. In fact,
some people agree with texting, while other people disagree with it. The purpose of this essay is to highlight the
advantages and disadvantages of texting.
To begin with, texting has many advantages. The first advantage is that texting can save time. Instead of
making calls and spending much time talking on phones, people can send their important topics via texting.
Also, nowadays young people have invented a creative texting language. They use letters or numbers to replace
words. For example, they use the number 4 instead of "for" and the letter "u" instead of "you".  Another
advantage is that texting cost effective. For example, instead of making expensive calls to people especially
those who live in other countries, we can send them send cheap text messages via our mobile phones or free text
messages via social media programs.
On the other hand, texting may have some disadvantages. The first disadvantage is using poor language. In
fact, in texting, people don't regard grammar rules or spelling. They use informal language and they use
shortened words. As a result, formal language may disappear over years to be replaced by informal language.
The second disadvantage is that texting may lead to misunderstanding. In texting, there is no body language or
oral communication, so people may not understand each other clearly. For example, when people reply to a
message using shortened words or only one-word, other people may consider this rude.
To sum up, texting has some advantages like being time effective and cost effective, but it may have some
disadvantages like using poor language and misunderstanding. Therefore, people should use texting wisely to
send their messages clearly.
Blogging ‫ المذكرات على الويب‬/ ‫التدوين‬
Nowadays, many young people love blogging or writing down their daily life on the Internet. They feel that
blogging takes them away from boring daily routine and it helps them to discover their own characters. In fact,
blogging has raised much debate among people. Some people think that blogging has some advantages, while
other people think that blogging has some disadvantages.
To begin with, there are many benefits for blogging. The first benefit is that it improves the writing skill
of the students. For example, when students write their own blogs and share them with other people on the
internet, they will try to use good vocabulary, good spelling, and good grammar rules so that their blogs can be
understood clearly. The second benefit is that blogging can support cultural exchange. For example, in their
blogs, young people may write about their habits, traditions and the tourist places of their country, so when we
read the blogs of other young people, we can know much about their culture and their tourist places. The third
benefit is that blogging may create effective communication. For example, after publishing their blogs, many
people can write down their comments and provide feedback to the blogger. The blogger can set up
relationships with people who regularly follow him. The fourth benefit is that blogging can be a learning
tool. For example, when young people write everything about their life even their problems and mistakes, they
can learn from their mistakes in the future and know how to deal with a problem that is like a previous problem.
Also, young children can read the blogs of their parents and learn from their life experiences.
On the other hand, there are some disadvantages for blogging. The first disadvantage is that it wastes the
time of young people. Instead of visiting their relatives or friends, sitting with their family, or studying their
lessons, young people may spend long hours in writing their blogs. Another disadvantage is that blogging
may lead to isolation and loneliness. Instead of interacting with other people in real life situations, young
people spend long hours lonely writing their own blogs. The third disadvantage is that blogging may
damage young people's health. When young people spend much time on writing their blogs, they may suffer
from many diseases such as headache and poor sight. The fourth disadvantage is that blogging may prevent
young people from following a healthy lifestyle. Indeed, when young people spend long hours in writing their
blogs, they don't have enough time to practice their hobbies or play sports.
To conclude, blogging has some advantages such as improving the writing skill, supporting cultural
exchange, creating effective communication and being a learning tool, but it may also have some
disadvantages such as wasting time, leading to loneliness, damaging health, and hindering a healthy
lifestyle. Therefore, young people should use blogging wisely.
Development of Communication / Importance of communication ‫ أهمية االتصال‬/ ‫تطور االتصال‬
Throughout history, people have developed many ways to communicate with each other. In fact, language
and communication are very important to people's life. They help people interact with each other, survive
together, solve their problems, and warn each other against possible dangers. Also, with the help of
communication, people can work together and benefit from the natural resources for their welfare. If there is no
communication, people may misunderstand each other, and they will fight against each other. Also, without
communication, there will be no peace on the earth so it is very important to understand different cultures and
their ways of communication because one way of communication may have different meanings. For example,
sitting cross-legged is very common in European countries, but it may be considered as rude in Arab countries.
Also, in Germany upright thumb means number"1" but in Japan it means number"5". Besides, nodding heads is
a sign of agreement in most cultures.
Indeed, communication has passed many stages of development. In the past, people used drums and smoke
to send signals over distance. Then, they used pigeons to send messages to people who live in far places. Next,
with the invention of paper, people started to send letters via post offices. After that, with the invention of
printing press, newspapers, books, and magazines began to spread all over the world. Following this, people
started to send messages via telegraph that was invented by Graham Bell. Next, they started to make calls via
wires when Bell invented the landline telephone. Then, with the invention of radio, messages can be delivered
orally to many people at the same time. After that, the invention of television helped to cover real news and
broadcast many programs. Following this, people could send formal messages via faxes. Later, people could
make calls to anyone everywhere and at any time via mobile phones. Finally, with the invention of computers
and the internet, people can talk with each other freely everywhere and at any time.
Also, writing has developed a lot. In the past, people used symbols and drawings of animals and plants in
cave paintings. Then, they used pictures to represent words as in Egyptian Hieroglyphs. Later, they invented the
alphabet and began to use codes to send secret messages. Nowadays, young people use shortened words in their
communication. Also, nowadays, many symbols are used to represent some ideas or places. For example, a
skull and crossbones logo means danger or death. Also, the red x logo means banned.
To sum up, communication has developed a lot from using drums and smoke to using mobile phones and the
internet. However, people should be use modern communication wisely because it may waste our time.

Storytelling / oral communication / verbal communication ‫ التواصل الشفهي‬/ ‫حكاية القصص‬

Storytelling is a kind of verbal or oral communication in which an elder person tells a story to young
children. These stories may be imaginary or from real life. In the UAE, grandparents tell young Emirati children
about the hard life they lived in the past. In fact, there are many advantages for storytelling.
The first advantage of storytelling is that it keeps the culture and heritage of the community. For example, in
storytelling, young people may know about the foods that their grandparents ate in the past, the tools that were
used in the past, the main challenges and problems that their grandparents had and how they solved their
problems. Also, young people knew about the traditional jobs such as pearl diving.
The second advantage is that storytelling links young generation to old generation. Through storytelling,
young people know about the achievements that their grandfathers did in the past such as His Highness Sheikh
Zayed who united the seven emirates in 1971 to make a modern country. Also, storytelling helps young people
to learn the Bedouin language and traditions from their grandfathers. This enhances cultural identity and make
young people work hard to develop their country.
The final advantage is that storytelling helps to increase cultural exchange. When people hear or read the
stories of other people, they understand different cultures and traditions throughout the world. For example,
when we know about western cultures from stories such as Cinderella and Snow White.
To sum up, storytelling can keep the culture and heritage, link young generation to old generation and
increase cultural exchange. Therefore, all parents should tell stories to their children to increase their
imagination and make them know much about the past life and the world around them.
Modern Technology (The internet / Mobile phone / Social Media)
(Modern technology) is a common topic that has spread widely in our modern life. This topic has led to
much debate among people. Some people think that modern technology has advantages, but other people think
that modern technology has disadvantages. In this essay, I will highlight the different views about (modern
technology).
To begin with, some people think that (modern technology) is very useful for these reasons. The first
reason is that it is a useful source of information and knowledge. For example, it helps people know about
global news, different traditions and different cultures around the world at any time. The second reason is that it
is a useful source of fun. For example, it helps people watch movies, play games and listen to music. Therefore,
they can enjoy their time.
On the other hand, other people think that (modern technology) is very harmful for these reasons. The first
reason is that it is bad for people’s health. For example, using it for a long time causes diseases like stress,
headache, backache and poor eyesight. The second reason is (that) it wastes our time. For example, when we
use it for a long time, we don’t have enough time to study our lessons, sit with our family or do sports.
To sum up, there are different views about (modern technology). However, I think that modern
technology is very useful because it has many positive effects on our life, and it has made our life very easy.
Online Learning

Today, many schools and universities all over the world offer their courses via the internet. Students
can have online learning while they are sitting in their houses. This topic has led to much debate among people.
Some people think that online learning is good for some students. However, other people strongly believe that
online learning has some disadvantages. I strongly disagree with online learning. In this essay, I will explain my
opinion using reasons and examples.
The first reason is that online learning lacks communication and competition. For example, online
educational websites don’t provide real competition, communication or teamwork among students so they don’t
feel motivated in learning. Learning at schools or universities include discussion and group activities and this is
very important in the learning process.
The second reason is that students may face some challenges when they have online learning. For
example, students may feel isolated from the instructor and classmates. Also, slow internet connections or older
computers may make online learning boring.
The last reason is that online learning is bad for students’ health. For example, when students sit in front
of the computer for a long time, they may have many diseases like poor eyesight, headache and backache.
To sum up, online learning is a modern topic that has many different opinions. However, I think that
online line learning isn’t good because of lacking communication and competition, having some problems and
causing diseases for students Therefore, I prefer traditional learning to online learning.
Future Homes / Smart homes ‫ البيوت الذكية‬/ ‫البيوت المستقبلية‬

Homes are the places in which people relax and feel comfortable. Homes today are very modern and developed.
However, in the future there will be many changes in our homes. In this easy, I highlight the main changes that will
happen to our homes which will be smart homes.

First, there will be many devices to our homes safe. For examples, there will be a digital lock that will prevent
thieves and bad people away from our homes. Also, there will be a Dictaphone with a camera to see who is on the door
so that we can open the door or keep it closed if the person is unknown to us.

Another change is having a robot in our houses. In fact, robots can do many things for people easily and quickly so
that they can save time and effort. For example, robots can cook meals, serve meals, clean the house, wash dishes or
entertain people.

The third change is having solar panels on the roof of our houses to collect sunrays and turn them into solar energy.
We can use this energy instead of electricity in lighting our houses and running our devices. This will help in decreasing
pollution and saving energy for future generations.

To conclude, there will be many changes in our future homes that will them smart and eco-friendly homes. These
changes include using digital locks, using robots and using solar panels. However, I think that using robots and modern
devices in our homes will make us lazy, so we shouldn’t use them a lot.

Why do Emirati people have bad health ?

Emirati people today suffer from many diseases like lung cancer, diabetes and high blood pressure. I
think there are many reasons for the bad health of young Emirati people.

The first reason is that young Emirati people today eat much junk food like hot dogs which have many
fats. Therefore, they become fat and have many diseases like diabetes .

The second reason is that they follow a lazy lifestyle. For example, they move by cars everywhere.
Also, they sit for a long time in front of TV , internet or video games . Therefore, they may have
headache, backache and poor sight.
The final reason is that some young Emirati people do bad habits like smoking. These habits lead to
many dangerous diseases like lung cancer.

To sum up, Emirati people have bad health because of eating junk food, following a lazy life and doing
bad habits. Therefore, I advise them to care for their health. They should know that, ‘’ Health is wealth ‘’.

Environmental Problems (Air Pollution / Global Warming / Climate Change)

Today, we face many environmental problems like global warming, climate change, air pollution and
water pollution. These problems are caused by bad human acts such as burning oil and cutting down trees.
These problems are dangerous because they cause many diseases like lung cancer. However, there are several
solutions for this problem.
The first solution is that we should plant more trees instead of cutting them down. For example, if we plant
more trees, we will have much oxygen and little carbon dioxide in the air because trees take in Carbon Dioxide
and give us Oxygen. Therefore, the air will be fresh and clean.
Another solution is that we should use renewable sources of energy like wind energy and solar energy. In
fact, these sources of energy are very clean. They don’t give off harmful greenhouse gases so they don’t pollute
the air. An example of this is the green Masdar city in Abu Dhabi. It uses renewable sources of energy so it is
free from carbon or any harmful gases.
The final solution is that the government should reduce, reuse and recycle old things. For example, In fact,
reusing or recycling old things like old bottles, old cans and old bags will reduce the amount of garbage so that

Space Exploration ‫ ( إستكشاف الفضاء‬The UAE sharing in exploring the space)

Recently, many countries want to send spaceships and astronauts to explore the space. Some people
agree with this topic while other people disagree. In this essay, I will highlight the pros and cons of space
exploration.
Some people agree with space exploration for these reasons. First of all, it allows people know more
about the universe. It increases our knowledge about outer space and our own planet. We can know about stars
and the moon. We can know about the earth’s atmosphere and how to better predict weather and natural
disasters. Another reason is that it paves the way to advanced technology. Space exploration has led to the
development of modern tools that many people use today such as GPS systems and satellite communication
which is used in TV and radio broadcasting.
On the other hand, other people disagree with space exploration for these reasons. The first reason is that
it is very dangerous. Astronauts or space tourists may lose their life in the space because of fatal space
accidents. Another reason is that space exploration is very expensive. It costs much money to train and educate
astronauts and to build rockets and spaceships.
To conclude, there are two different views about space exploration. I strongly think that there should be
few space expeditions and we should help poor people instead.

Museums ( art galleries )‫ المعارض الفنية‬/ ‫المتاحف‬

Today, many countries build museums to keep their history and heritage. Some people think that museums
should have old things but other people think that museums should have modern things. I strongly think that
museums should include old and modern things. I have many reasons for my opinion and I will explain them in
the following paragraphs.
The first reason is that museums are important for cultural exchange. For example, people can know about
different cultures when they visit museums so it’s important to watch old things to know about the past and
modern things to know about the modern progress of countries.
The second reason is that museums can link young generation to old generation. For example, they help
young generation to know how they grandfathers lived in the past. Of course, this enhances national identity
and keep traditions.
The final reason is that they are important for tourism. For example, tourists come from different countries
to watch old tools and modern beautiful paintings and they pay much money. This improves local economy.

To sum up, I strongly think that museums should have old and modern things because of cultural
exchange, linking young generation to old generation and attracting tourists. I advise all people to visit
museums to know about their heritage.
