Negative Particles
तो The particle ही has several usages in Hindi.
भी
यूँ ही can express “only” or “just”:
ही
[-] Miscellaneous मैं एक ही िकताब पढ़ लूँगा – “I will read only one book”
[-] Affixes
वाला मैंने यह िकताब ही पढ़ ली – “I only read this book”
Echo Words
Pair Words ही can amplify a word – like “very”:
Interjections
Adverbs यह साड़ी बहुत ही सुन्दर है – “This sari is very beautiful”
Conditional Sentences
[-] Postpositions ही can come between a word and the postposition that follows it:
को
Conjunctions मैं आप ही का खाना खा रहा हूँ – “I’m only eating your food”
[-] Verbals
[-] Participles ही is a particle, not a postposition. Therefore, it does not require the word that precedes it to be in the oblique case.
Verb Stem + रहा
Habitual Participles ही can emphasize verbs as well:
Future Participles
Passive Participles वह तो होना ही है – “that at least must be so” – “that much is obvious”
Perfect Participles
Imperfective Participles प्यार तो होना ही है – “love has to happen”
Conjunctive Participles
Pronouns have special forms when combined with ही:
Infinitives
[-] Verbs
तुम + ही = तुम्हीं
Participle + जाना
Compulsion Idioms
यह + ही = यही
Infinitive + होना
Modality
वह + ही = वही
[-] Mood
Imperative Mood
इस + ही = इसी
Presumptive Mood
Subjunctive Mood
उस + ही = उसी
Aspect
Tense
इन + ही = इन्हीं
Negation
[-] Idiomatic Verbs
उन + ही = उन्हीं
जाना
चुकना
Note that the plural pronouns are nasalized.

चाहना Some adverbs can be combined with ही too:
चािहये
सकना यहाँ + ही = यहीं – “right here”
देना
पाना वह + ही = वहीँ – “right there”
लगना
होना अब + ही = अभी – “right now”
[-] Voice
Passive Voice तब + ही = तभी – “right then”
Causative Verbs
Iterative Constructions If ही is adjoined to the word, then it is emphatic. If it follows the adverb separately, then it has the sense of exclusivity (“only”):
Continuity
Multiple Subjects अब ही – “only now” – अभी – “right now”
Ergativity
Transitivity ही can emphasize a word in an emphatic way too:

Compound Verbs यहीं है – “It is in this very place” – “it’s right here”
