Students will…
-Understand how Mexican textbooks present the Mexican American War compared
to how American textbooks present the Mexican American War.
Learning Objective(s): - Reflect on the differences between how Mexicans present the Mexican American
War vs. how the American textbooks present the Mexican American War
-Realize that the Mexican textbooks interpret the Mexican American War a very
different way American textbooks see the war.

Students will get on groups of no more than 5 people and will then
create a Twitter post, either from the American side or the Mexican Time: 5 min
side, on their thoughts about the Mexican American War.
Students will share with the rest class their twitter post and will
make a quick comment on what their group thought about today’s Time: 5 min
lesson.
In a sheet of paper, each student will write a short paragraph about
how they thought the Mexican textbook presented the Mexican

American War and something they found interesting or something
new they learned about the Mexican American War.
