Project READATHONE

In line with the K to 12 program goal of making every child a reader, and as a
response to the challenge of Quality Basic Education due to low reading comprehension
levels of the students, the Villa Luna National High School intensifies its reading reading
programs a READOTHONE project. It is an acronym for (Read Everyday to Achieve
Desired Ability towards a Holistic, Objective, Non-stop Education).
This school-based program is also an initiative in support to DepEd’s Sulong
Edukalidad program, Bawat Bata Bumabasa (3 BS) and and SDO Cauayan’s Project Sulong
sa Pagbasa.
The program specifically aims

 to intorduce the love for reading among high school students;

 improve the reading comprehension level of the students; and
 classroom libraries or reading nooks.

READATHONE is personally facilitated by the class advisers everyday from 3:30 to

4:00 in the afternoon. Aside from reading, enrichment activities like scrabble, word factory,
BINGo, spelling bees, quiz bees, crossword puzzles are also done.
