Summer Internship Program-2020

Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) offers highly-motivated law


students an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of our Authority
which is working towards access to justice for all. DSLSA invites online
applications for On-line Summer Internship Program - 2020 from law students
of various Law Universities/Colleges of India.

DSLSA allows individuals to bring new perspectives, innovative ideas, and latest
research experiences to improve their legal skills while working in a multicultural
environment.

The objective of programs is to provide you first-hand experiences of the day-to-


day operations of the Authority by closely working at grass root level of our
Society as well as hands on experience with legal issues faced by people at large.
This is a unique opportunity to have a feel of free legal aid system and how it is
dealing with legal issues keeping in view the norms of social distancing.

We seek motivated students who take initiative and know when to seek guidance
on projects. We welcome students who are flexible and have a positive attitude.

Who can apply

Law students of IInd, IIIrd & IVth year (five year Course) and Ist & IInd Year
(three year Course) are eligible to apply for this program.

Efficiency in written Communication (English), Legal writing, Basic legal


knowledge
Timeline pertaining to internship:

 27th May 2020

Students can apply for summer Internship on-line from through our website
www.dslsa.org.

 5th June 2020

Last date of submitting application. Application should be submitted with


recommendation letter from College/ University on the proforma prescribed by
DSLSA.

 7th June 2020

Enrolled/ Shortlisted students would be informed.

 10th June 2020

Commencement of Internship.

Scope of Internship

While interning with Authority students will have an opportunity to do some or all
of the following:

 Work from home


 This year Authority intends to impart training in Civil, Criminal and
Juvenile Rights Practices.
 The interns will work on daily legal news updates, and 2-3 blog posts per
week on allotted topics.
 Attend webinars on Legal Aid
 Attend on-line classes on practical aspects of law like Investigation of
criminal trials, framing suits, medical aspects, electronic evidence
 On-line assistance to Helpline numbers of DSLSA.
 To go through topics of DSLSA Learning Series on you-tube.
 Contacting 100 Delhi Residents on phone/ mail and fill questionnaire (to be
supplied to students by DSLSA).
 Participate in talks with Jail Authorities and Authority of Juvenile/ Children
Homes.
 Undertake a voluntary small project or relevant research assignment with
District Legal Service Authorities.
 Learn about the organization’s mission.
 Complete other projects as suggested.

Academic Credit

 Internship Certificate at the successful completion of the internship.
