INTRODUCTION
● Arunachalam Muruganantham is a social entrepreneur who invented a
low-cost sanitary pad-making machine .

● In 1998 he started designing experimental pads which was rejected by his


sisters and wife.

● It took him two years to discover that the commercial pads used cellulose
fibers derived from pine bark wood pulp.

● In 2016 he won the National Innovation Challenge in IIT Madras and


obtained seed funding and founded Jayaashree Industries,
● Currently more than 1300 machines made by his start-up company,
Jayaashree Industries, are installed across 27 states in India and seven
other countries.

● In 2014, he was included in Time magazine's list of 100 Most Influential


People in the World.

● In 2016, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

On 27th march 2011 Iron Dome was deployed

0n 7th april 2011 destroyed 8 out of 8 rockets launched from Gaza

WHERE ?

In 2006 ,after Israel-Lebanon 2nd war

45 civilians died and approx. 400-500 civilians severely injured in


Haifa (3rd largest city of Israel)

250000 Israeli citizens had to evacuate Haifa.


WHY ?

Israel is surrounded by enemy countries like


Gaza,lebanon,Syria,Jordan,Egypt

It is attacked on regular basis for being a only Jewish country in the


world

With a population of approx. 90 lacs,it has become world’s first


country with complete air defence system

Can destroy multiple rockets as well as aircraft such as helicopter

With an efficiency of 90%
